Re: The Doc & Kim 69 build

I’m thinking that you might have jumped the gun a little on the alignment, as you still have a LOT of weight to add before you’re ready to do that. But it did look like the original arms were a bit long.

Your project is coming along very nicely. Who makes those value covers you have on your build?

Re: The Doc & Kim 69 build

Thanks for all the detailed pics of the frame. I've had mine apart soo long i forgot how the idler arm attached. I ordered all new parts and i took them out of the box and said why didn't i buy an idler arm. Turns out what i thought was the pitman arm was the idler arm didn't know you had to reuse the frame brace. Your frame is bootifull nice work.

Re: The Doc & Kim 69 build

You're doing a great job on your truck and your enjoyment is contagious. I think that helps when frustrations like your control arms show up. I also think it's why people like Bob are willing to pass along a treasure like that wagon to you. Not saying you didn't pay him well for it, but that thing's amazing.

I have made some ovens look at post 103 for long parts ....I was fortunate to find this double wall oven on Offer-UP for 95.00 because the lower oven was missing the outer glass which by the way dose not effect its operation....they are easy to make with ...elements and metal cabinets if you can round up all the materials to wire and insulate to regulate the temp ....you only need to keep a consistent 400 degrees for about 20 minutes to bake...if you go on the internet you can find how others have built ovens....good luck its lots of fun and relatively inexpensive

Re: The Doc & Kim 69 build

looked back and saw I put this in moth balls just about 2 years ago ........ I had some time today ....got it jacked up so I could put the engine in the proper location ..you see I wasn't paying attention when I settled it in the frame back then and the cab wasn't on the frame then either or I would have seen how far from the fire wall it was sitting need to put it in the rear most position on the frame

Re: The Doc & Kim 69 build

I worked today to get those OEM engine stands out and used the after market ones I had looks like they will work ...motors moved back with fingers only between the fire wall and the distributor cap I will change the motor mounts tomorrow to the bolts through the center Camaro / Malibu style
