Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Put the inner skirt on . It’s real nice not having to fight the panels . And I seem to have miss placed one of the big washered bolts the one with the f shims . I found one and the four f shims .

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Redoing the bedwood on my stepper . Something got on it in the barn over last winter and discolored it . So I replaned it and sanded till it was acceptable . This time I’m using a marine waterborne spar urethane. So far it’s looking good reason I’m trying it is I need to do this in the basement so fumes wood stove and gas water heater don’t mix all that well .

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

i removed my steering wheel in order to change out the turn signal switch. i took the opportunity to clean and polish the steering wheel. plan to really polish up the column as well before i put it back together. i did find out that my steering wheel is worth $500 bucks which is neat. i bought it about 15 years ago for about $200. i was thinking about removing it for an original wheel. nice to know if i decide to do that i will be able to sell it for a little $$. i also pulled the bed off for better access. i prepping for undercoating. im probably going to have to use a combo of roll on and aerosol. anyone have good luck with specific brands?

Got board so to speak . Cut and buffed one of the bed boards 2500 then some med cut compound. Worked best by hand then three coats of wax . Guess I won’t be putting firewood in this truck

That truck reminds me of an almost identicle truck a guy named Joe Mines from your area owned in the 1970's he owned Joe Mines Blasting and it had a set of aluminum slots on it . One of the best looking trucks on the road in North Jersey at the time . Very Nice !

Snowed again . Tried something different on the bed wood used a buffer attachment for doing headlamps . Worked out real well ,I have two more to do but don’t feel like crawling under the truck to loosen the bolts . And it’s like 95 degrees in the basement love sweating in shorts .

Took the ole guy out for some driving today. Nice winter (50s for us) weather here. Took in some of the local coast attractions. Sure is nice to have it mobile again.
