Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Also found out that the mounts i got will put my engine 1.25 inches forward. That is not going to work with my shifter linkages. So now i have to find mount plates that will keep it as close as possible to factory location any suggestions?

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
this is what I've run into and have gone through a few different scenario's. My sbc was on 6cyl mounts in the rear mounting holes...so coming up with a mounting solution that keeps the motor back that far has been an issue. I have the -1" plates from TransDapt...which is about what those give you?

I know glock35ipsc is working on building an LSx swap kit and has the parts needed for fit up and has the tools & skill needed to do the work you need. He was looking into header options. Maybe you could send him your headers and he could fab up some mount plates that will work with your headers for a reasonable fee as well as test fit them to see if they will work. This could help you out and him too. You might be able to talk him into installing the collector flanges and deleting the smog tubes too if the headers fit or can easily be made to work with his kit in mind.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
The mount plates in the pic say they will slide 3 inches. The mounts i own move the engine forward 1.25 inches. So i am pretty sure they will work.... But i guess i was pretty sure the ones i own will work too..
There is a truck on this fourm someware that put the exact same headers i got on his truck. About the same year truck. He only had to modify the frame a tiny bit. I dont really want to spend any money on these headers cause if they fit good i will be getting a good quality set later on. All the shipping and welding will surpass the price i paid for them. But thanks for your sugestions.

if the red area represents the contact patch....I think it looks about as good as you're going to get with non-roller rockers.

Dear **dirtydingo.com**, Will these work with 4wd GM trucks also or do you have a different part number? Also can the factory A/C compressor be retained in the stock location on the lower passenger side? - 48cj2a Dear 48cj2a, Yes they will work on 4WD. You can retain the stock A/C in the stock location. If you desire to slide the engine against the firewall the A/C may be against the mount, but have not heard of any feed back with problems of this. I have sold dozens of these to 4WD customers, all promising me pictures- but still have not recieved them. - **dirtydingo.com**

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Wish i could get ones that say LSx or something but money is about as tight as them dang balancer bolts right now. The 7 doller can of paint was more in budget. I cant belive how shiny they came out. And the main reason i painted them is cause they were not all that nice looking after i got them clean. Will put some bling under hood.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Well i got some time today to work on truck. I put new positve batt cable on and installed my new carb. Runs a lot stronger. Set idle mixture with vaccum gauge and my old motor actually has 21 hg of vaccume. I think that is a good sign right. Needle does not flicker or jump around at all. The seat of pants dyno says it is way better on low end. 3 year old daughter even says its faster. She yelled out WOW its faster!!! It will spin the tire at a slow rool for about 15 feet now. Would bearly do it from a turning stand still. It seems to bog if you punch it after the secondarys open. I think they are opening too soon. Will change spring out and check timing in morning. It is faster then a new dodge diesle with a exhaust and small programer too buy the way.......
