Or locating it against the frame below the bed with a drop out battery box.

This is the one I'm using.

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

I dont have the extra money to relocate the batter at this current time, and besides, i spent like 1.5 hours fabbing up that new bracket to make the battery sit where it is now lol. Whats a good way to clean up the drivers side without relocating anything major?

Haha bag it and throw some mud tires on it!! I've actually thought about doing it just for the irony of it.

Finally got my serpentine setup back from the powder coater. It was done decently enough. Cost me like $115 bucks to do the whole setup posted below.
There were a few imperfections in the powder, but overall Im happy. I did a silver and a satin black.
Then I loosely mocked it up. Im going to paint my water pump, alternator, and power steering pump. I think I'm going to repaint the block, It looks kind of grungy compared to my new clean parts. lol

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

Oh I guess I didn't realize that there was some rubber or plastic in the tensioner, and they didn't know either, so it ended up a little messed up. but after some time with a small chisel and hammer I got it out of the grooves. Is this still usable? Or do I need a new one?

Oh BTW I got a new job on campus at the engineering machine shop helping students use the equipment correctly on the engineering clubs projects and the capstone projects. When no one comes in for help, I am getting paid to hone my skills!

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

I'm on spring break so I'm getting some things done on the truck! Lots of little projects all at once.
What I've accomplished this far this week:

-Strip tweed off dash and dyed the vinyl black. (door panels next)
-Stripped undercoating off firewall and flat black primer
-Stripped old paint off engine block, (Painting with por15 engine black tomorrow)
-Paint master cylinder gloss black
-Paint and transfer everything off old core support to new dual headlight one (yet to be installed)
-Replace broken drivers vent window assembly
-Replaced 2 bad air valves
-Primered front inner fenders
Installed trans cooler on new core support
-Found F*rd electric fan, (will install)
and finally,
-I got on the lathe at work and made myself an alum. shifter handle.
Im not completely done machining it yet, but its close!

Thank you!

MOTOR IS IN! Sorry for the bad picture! Its now loaded up on my trailer headed to a friends shop in the morning where I have access to a lift to
make it easier to install the Thornbecke brothers trans crossmember.

You can see my temporary satin black firewall.

Ordered a new radiator and poly body bushings (supposedly have a little polygraphite impregnated) from pro performance.

X2 man your doing a great job, if you ever start running low on cash you could always start selling the cut down crossmembers that you fabricated. Nice work.
