Re: 1948 Chevy / S10
Chevette, 99 to Life, oldman3, SSABMUD, Thank you all. I am really pleased with them.
I finished up the inner wells this morning and started to fix the rust around the windshield. Then got side tracked with getting ready for another bad storm. I had a generator give to me by my father in law 10 years ago and it did not run. So you know waiting to the last minute I decided to work on it. I tore the carb all apart. Had to solder a hole up in the float, cleaned everything up. Then tore the head off of it because of a stuck valve. Freed it up and put it back together. Fabbed up a gas tank out of a gas can. Then made up a adapter to start it with my cordless drill. It was missing all the starting stuff. It is a 5000 watt one and best of all $0. It runs great! I have a new sump pump so we will hopefully good to go. This year we are in better shape than last year for the flood/storm. Shannon

Re: 1948 Chevy / S10
Well the truck is gone now. It left on Saturday. There was a show and it was cold out so my buddy and me decided to take that to the show rather than both our trucks. It was on the trailer at the back of the show and it was funny to see the amount of people that checked it out.

oldman3, Thank you. It was funny how they were drawn to it.
Chevette, Thank you. I did not do anything to it. He is going to epoxy soon, or I hope so. Shannon

"Gotta love Neil Young for that saying". Ironic, you posted that. The wife and I are going to his concert on Nov. 11/12.

Yeah I passed him up here in pittsburgh, wish I hadn't but tickets were like 70 bucks and I had so much other stuff going on, plus it was on a weekday and I work nonstop. oh the irony in life.

Thank you both. I have not been working on this truck for over a month. Right now I am bagging a 1953 ford f100 pickup. I will post some pictures on my panel build thread.

Re: 1948 Chevy / S10
Daverod, thank you. I do not know how I learned to do it. I think that it helps that I work in a machine shop and have worked in a fab shop also. So I think on the fly and just make what I need most times. Even if it is tools or fixtures to make something. I am 38 and have been messing with cars/trucks since I was 16 and I am into more than ever now. Also I have always been willing to try things and most times it had worked out. Glad you like it. I plan to make the under the hood panels on my panel truck when I have time. But have been super busy on other peoples projects. But I am happy that I can finally just drive it

reaper71, I have wondered where you have been. Glad you are working on something. Did you do anything to your truck? You will have to post a picture of it though.
Chevrolado, Thank you. I have not done anything on it for a while. My buddy(owner) is working on it , but I will be doing some things on it from time to time so I will post when I do. Shannon
