Re: Project#1: Bright Horizons - 68 Swb big block on Air!
Nice work on the roof. I was considering doing the job the same way but my only donor roof is from a small window 67 and this needs to be done to my 69 cab.
It needs both inner & outer skins due to roof mounted service light damage and leaks so I started looking at the way the factory put the cabs together. I'm looking at drilling out the spot welds on the inner panels to get them out then install the good upper inner skin onto the large back window lower inner section. Same process for the outer roof skin then reinstall the inner surface assembly. From the way the parts are assembled I think this is the way the body plant put them together so it should work out OK.

Sounds like you have a plan!
Should get the top finished welded this week pending weather. The shop was closed last week as the owner was at SEMA so I couldn't work on the truck....plus, the weather was horrible for the first half of the week anyways...

Re: Project#1: Bright Horizons - 68 Swb big block on Air!
It's a fresh remanufactured one from edelbrock. Hoping it's ready to run right out of the box but I do have a tuning kit if needed....have a lot of accessories for it also...

Can't wait to see how yours comes along. It will be cool to have 2 accuair C10's in Midlo!! Mine is registered and should hit the road in a few weeks. I like the blue you are going with. I haven't read the entire thread but I think this body style looks great with a shortened rear end and super deep rear wheels 10-12" wide. If you going to lay it down low might as well get some hardcore wheels.

Re: Project#1: Bright Horizons - 68 Swb big block on Air!
Got the roof almost finished but darkness set in. Found some other spots lower on the driprail to patch so I took care of those as well. It's now solidly welded and ready for me to transport back to my house. I will do the frame work/suspension/air ride/brakes there and get it running and driving. Then will put all the new sheetmetal on and drive it back to the body shop for final fitment and body work and then paint.

Thanks, progress will be better once I have it home...been a mixed blessing at the shop....great access to tools and free storage are awesome...but the distance from home and lack of access and no work in the rain really hurts progress.... Thanks! In a few...

Still needs some more grinding but it's getting there, solid, and rust is gone

Nice work, you gonna run stock suspension with bags in place of coils?

Yes, bags will mount on the trailing arms in place of the coil springs at the rear and on cups in the lower control arms in the front. I'll be adding 2" blocks in the rear and 2 1/2" drop spindles in the front also. And a c-notch, super trac bar, shock relocators, sway bars, new shocks, new tie rods, ball joints, etc...

The Mar-K moldings are very nicely packaged and look nice and the clips look a lot better than the others I have seen....and they're Made in the USA!
