With that in mind here's the official warning; Remove the intermediate crossmember if you are installing an automatic transmission. |

This is my first ever C10 build though and I had it torn down to the frame within a couple weeks of buying it and I just didn't know enough about the pickup yet. It's one of those deals where I wish I knew then what I know now. |

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod
Hey all;
I removed the Intermediate crossmember yesterday, so now I can get on with the build. Things on the punch list for this week: Rebleed brakes. Install Shift linkage. Install Fuel Lines and filter. Install standalone engine/transmission harness. Hopefully I can get it all done. |

Hey all;
I installed my cruise control and steering wheel today. It wasn't on my punch list but I needed to be able to steer. |

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod
Hey all;
It's hotter than the Devils backyard outside. All I did today is swap some rallys and check one of the tires for punctures. I switched the tire that was on the 6" rim to the 7" rim and the tire that was on the 7" rim to the 8" rim. It turns out there was nothing wrong with the tire, the 6" rim just had so much corrosion inside the lip it was leaking out of the sidewall. |

Hey all;
The business I bought my cold air intake kit from called and they are replacing the scratched aluminum pipe and sending the missing MAF adapter also. I installed my Lokar shift linkage today. |

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod
Hey all;
This one is for all you guys who have 71-72 tilt automatic columns. After restoring one of these alot of guys find out that the pin used to hold the shift arm in place wont go back in tight well I came up with a great solution for this problem. You will need to buy the following; 1x 8-32x3/4" stainless allen bolt. 1x 8-32 internal threaded sleeve with end stop. Then drill out the bottom ear to fit the sleeve with a 9/32 bit and then countersink the shift arm approximately 1/8th of an inch with the same bit. |

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod
Hey all;
Today I got the holes drilled in the frame for the canister style filter and installed it. I also installed the return side of the fuel line and after looking at how much line it used I may have to buy some more. Here are some pictures of the fuel system so far. |

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod
LOL I said I could be driving it in a week if I worked really hard, which I have no intention of doing, so it will most likely be weeks from now.
