Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
That's what I was thinking.... will the 3/4" clearance be enough to bring the truck down some more..I really like the wheel and tire size you have used and want to do something along these lines on my 68....... !!!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
It can come down some more, but I need to c-notch it first. I may modify the inner fenders just for some added "security" after I get that done.

That is nice! what all did it take to put the 4.8 in? did you just take computer and all out of a silverado and make it work?

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
I've been looking for an original 67-72 truck for a long time. I found this one 3 hrs from home. Bought it with 69696 original miles and its unrestored. The only things not original are the ugly wheels, air conditioning and radio. It was in storage for 14 years.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Here is my newest one, I bought this 72 GMC 4X4 last November and spent the last 6 months tearing it apart, sanding it down to bare steel and painting it. I took the bed off, removed every part inside and out including all the glass. I bought just about one of everything in the Classic Parts catalog and some from LMC, replaced the brakes, wheel cylinders, calipers, etc. It was a lot of work but I am very happy with it now! It started out as a brown turd covered with 5 gallons of bondo, I literally filled a five gallon bucket with all the bondo that was on it, whoever did the body work in the past didnt even try to hammer out the dents, they just filled them up with bondo. It has a rebuilt 350, TH350 trans and came with two transfer cases. The PO installed a 4 inch lift kit in it, it is just the right height. It's going to be a fun truck. Here's a couple before and after pics.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Here's a few of my 67 project. It has drop spindles and 1 coil off in front, 5" drop springs in the rear. 7" van rallies in front and 9" Rallies in rear. I still have a few thing to do, carpet, finish the "Old Air" unit install and find a usable tailgate.
I would like to run the BOSS 338's in 20" if they ever get the probs worked out...... |

Airspeed and Chuck, you both have very nice, very clean looking trucks. Well done!
