Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Worth 3x asking price of $2500 in parts. For those who missed it --it was a decent running 54 flatbed. with 4 speed on floor and what appeared to be a really good condition overall. Ad said all original and daily driver. (funny how $2500 is about pocket change nowadays).

If a board member got it please post!!

That truck has been for sale for a long time. Somehow, it pops up in virtually every craigslist search location.

Problem is, no one comes to Maine to buy any kind of vehicle

So, noting your location as Texas/Maine, don't suppose you're headed up there any time soon!? It is a nice truck and I'd like to own it - it's a great combo. The rockers may have been done professionally, they look fine, but the half-hearted paint effort makes me suspicious of overall quality. Having said that, if it were a little lest pricey, I might also be asking you if you had a trailer...

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

This truck was for sale before I bought mine in April of 2016! I believe he was asking about 5k more back then. Nice truck, but that's a lot of cash.

On the road home driving thru Virginia now.

We stay in South Portland during the summer, living on our ol' boat. Too dang hot for me in Texas during the summer...

But note that a po actually wrote "350 ci" on the SPID next to the 327 RPO - I guess in case he forgot what he replaced the original engine with...? Anyway, really like 67-68 K20s and this was a nice one in its day. Seller very good with responding, we chatted a bit - I am/was interested, but too many other projects in the long run, none that I'm willing to replace with this truck. Anyway, wanted to share the SPID for awareness.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Jocko, I see it lists power steering. I have never seen P/S on a 67-68 4x4 before. I didn't think it was even offered until '69 on a 4x4? I wonder what the set up looks like? Would it have manual box with the power assisted slave cylinder like the early 2wd? Very interesting.

It also doesn't list the body side moldings.

1968 K20 CST 4x4. Professional Show Quality Frame Off -Rotisserie Nut & Bolt Restoration. Less than 300 miles on the truck since its restoration. The truck has won first in class at several car shows. The restoration was done to show quality standards. The undercarriage is just as nice as the top. Power steering, power brakes, 350 crate motor. Tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours were invested into this one of build. ALL RECEIPTS ARE INCLUDED.

MOTOR &TRANSMISSION- New Chevy 350 crate motor approx 350 horsepower. Mallory ignition, electronic ignition. New Edelbrock Performer intake and four barrel carburetor. New stock exhaust manifolds. Complete new wiring harness. The engine bay is fully detailed to show quality as seen in the pictures. Moroso oil pan, clutch fan, chrome air cleaner, aluminum corvette finned valve covers. Rebuilt, 4 speed manual transmission/transfer case. New clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Full stainless 3 inch exhaust with high performance mufflers. The exhaust sounds awesome....

PAINT & BODY- Meticulous 3 year restoration. The entire truck, frame, axles, inside of the cab, ect, were all completely media blasted and repainted. Show quality window out paint job by professional restoration/body shop. The truck was repainted its beautiful stock color of Ivory (528) and Light Green (503). The Truck was completely disassembled down to the bare shell, cab, and frame. There was minimal rust repair needed. One lower cab corner and rocker was replaced. The rest of the truck was completely rust free. Replacement metal reproduction cab corner and rocker was professionally installed. All metal work was professionally done. The paint was cut and polished to a show finish. Powder coated core support and inner fenders. Painted frame, front and rear end, transmission and transfer case. New front and rear bumpers, badges, lenses, headlights, all weather striping, window and door rubber, body aluminum trim, chrome wing window frames, door handles and ignition switch (one key fits all lock), side mirrors. L.E.D turn signals, marker lights and brake lights. Professionally installed spray in bed liner. Under the hood was coated with bed liner as well. all new body mounts and hardware.

INTERIOR- The entire inside of the cab was repainted. Rare CST interior package with factory bucket seats. New tilt steering colum, steering wheel, sun visors, retractable seat belts, center console, various chrome plated interior pieces and interior trim, new carpet and gas tank carpet, wood grain door panels, new wood grain instrument bezel with tachometer, new wood grain ashtray and glove box door, new factory Retro Sound am/fm mp3 radio with 55 watt kick panel speakers. rebuilt heater core. New windshield and most other glass. New dash, pedals, rear view mirror, antenna.

OTHER- Four brand new Toyo at 285/75r16's. Freshly powder coated factory steel rims including spare, new starter, alternator, power steering pump, fuel pump, fan, radiator, and battery. The front and rear axles were disassembled, inspected, repaired and serviced as needed and repainted. New shocks, steering damper, new gas tank, fuel sender, filler neck and cap. Warn hubs. new front end bushings/rubber parts. Complete new brakes front and rear. New brake lines, dual circuit master cylinder and brake booster. All wheel bearings were serviced and replaced as needed. Original owners manual and factory paperwork. Clean Washington title. Collector plates.

There is much that has been done to the truck that has not been listed. I tried to high light the main points of the build. This truck has one first place in class at almost every car show it has been to. This is one of the nicest fully restored K20's you will ever find. Full rotisserie, nut and bolt frame off restoration. All work listed was professionally done with receipts for documentation. This is a investment grade example mint show quality Chevy K20, the nicest I have ever seen.... I am considering selling my truck to the next care taker as I have acquired new vehicles for my collection and am running out of space. The truck needs nothing. The truck runs, drives, and looks better than it did win it was new. $26,999 OBO
Seems like a lot of time and money were spent on this build. $25,000 would be a steal. I haven't checked my lottery tickets from last night maybe I could be the proud new owner. Lol

Hi Joe! I seen a 68 4x4 with the power assist P/S. Same as the 2wd. But, it does have different brackets than the 2wd.

Joe, will look at the few eng pics I have and see if I can tell anything - if I can, will post it. I’m not convinced it still has the original motor, so might not prove anything anyway if the brackets were from the donor.
