Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet
It's lookin real good, bought the tank locally from a friend but classic parts America sells them pretty cheap, sits lower it's just sitting there to make space in my garage it actually mounts under the frame so it clears the bed wood. Currently waitin on a ton of hardware and work to slow down so I can get my last bed side prepped and in primer as well as the hood, goal is a truck in the garage before sled season then tear it apart to finalize the bodywork and firewall shaving and paint in the spring after sled season, too cold in my unfinished garage during winter anyway

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet
I love the top banana one too but need to run a front license plate in NJ so I guess that ones out. I'll probably end up going with one from GMCPauls.

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet
Ordered a new bedside and grille from classic industries and by the time they arrive I should be done work and sledding for the season so updates will be coming, sourcing door hinges and misc engine parts as well, hoping the bank account lets me finish by the middle of summer. Lots of catching up to do on everyone's builds, missed a lot from the quick skimming I did this afternoon

Awesome project! Our projects have a lot in common. Your thread brings back fond memories of my cab overhaul. I have an air compressor very similar to yours too. Subcribed.....

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet
Should be very soon, weather forecast looks like the end of snowmobiling is very near and the door hinges, grille, and remaining box side arrived today from classic industries. Hoping to start back at it in 2 weeks and hit it hard, I would love to have her in primer by the beginning of June and running around the same time

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet
I can't get pictures to upload I think my laptop piled up, but I will try tomorrow, mocked the box sides and fenders up and I'm searching for a step plate, it's coming together though and as soon as I can upload pics I will, I did update iPhone pics on Facebook but I can't share for some reason, sorry

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet
Thanks, it's a long ways away but I'm picking at it slowly, putting together a parts list to stimulate the action a bit, hopefully start seeing more progress soon, hood will be my next attack point then doors

Looks great, you have made some nice progress. Wish mine was this far along, I can't wait to be hanging sheet metal.

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet
Had a change of heart and swapped the rv cam for a comp cams thumper setup, swapped the rockers for roller tips, dumped the power plus intake for an edelbrock, and swapped out the dress up kit for a pro form setup. There’s nothing like changing your mind on upgrades before even using them haha
