Great looking parts. Looking foward to seeing the end result, I'm sure it will be outstanding.

I got a little sick when I added a price column and added a SUM function and saw how much I had invested so far. And it seems that when I think that I've included all the NOS parts on the list that I have, I remember more that I have picked up. So, I have since put back on my blinders and will ignore what things cost in the future. If I need it, that's the way it is.

By the way, nice collection of parts you have accumulated, and at such a fast pace.

Thanks guys,

Truck is at Jason's shop now. Took a few more little things I noticed out including the seatbelts I'd left in until now...

Also noticed some more hidden rust around the rockers that I hadn't with the lack of room/lighting in my shop....so there will be some more patching involved probably including taking the new rockers off

But Jason's great with metal and welding so it'll be as good (or better) than new soon enough

Busy day with Church and family get together tomorrow so probably no updates until Monday or even tuesday because I have plans all day Monday also....

Thanks!

Been slow on the updates. Jason's started on the truck but I haven't been over to check it out. I've been slammed between family events and just kids in general , looking for work, working a side job, selling the parts here, and getting ready for Charlotte (getting ready to head there now)

I got several more NOS parts for my truck and received my super nice restored vent windows but pics will have to wait till Sunday evening or Monday.

I hope to score a few of the last needed bits while down at Charlotte as well as selling some parts to pay for those bits

NOS parking brake release handle

NOS headlight bezels

Correct style rivets for grille

Where did you get the radiator hoses?

Surprising that your NOS wipers were made in Mexico.

Radiator hoses were off ebay...I'll look up the link later and post it.
Yeah, the wipers were also off ebay...didn't show the hecho en mexico sticker on them But they are brand new wipers that look like my originals made by GM that I hadn't been able to find... probably really NNS (new newer stock) but still discontinued from what I've found.

Ah...nothing like the feeling of opening that NOS part that arrives via the mail/UPS/FedEx. But then the elated feeling wanes and we need more...MORE...MORE!
Nice find, Jonathan.

WHAT??!?!?! you are going to change directions after 15 pages of updates...I'm shocked

If you wanna complete original big block, big buck swb super build then go for the other one....you'll be selling to a limited market, but I know you know that already

thanks, getting there...almost got all NOS stuff for the outside.

Might be a BIG change of direction on this project soon (people who know me and my builds will NOT be surprised )

I'm still going to build the truck and it will be a SWB BB Super.....but might not be this truck. Looking at a truck in NC that is a TRUE SWB BB Super with even more options than this truck had. Also has the correct 402/400 with it. So I am leaning towards selling this frame/cab and purchasing the other truck.

I'm going to get the rust repaired in the cab and freshen up the frame a little and see if I can sell it for what I have in it....then pick up the other SWB super....

I just feel to do this build right...with all the nice and NOS stuff I have and to get top dollar I should get a TRUE SWB BB Super with number's matching block, frame & cab....

Opinions?

IF (cost of new truck + body work to get to where you are now + shipping) < (extra you will get on sale + proceeds from sale of this truck - what you have in this truck)
do it
ELSE
forge ahead

My thought is that there might be people who really want a TRUE original documented Swb bb truck and no matter how nice I make this swb bb...the original documentation will show it was a LWB. If I was building a driver or nice weekend cruiser I wouldn't care....but the amount of $$$ I have tied up in parts...this needs to be 100% right

The truck I'm looking at has OOODLES of documentation...I WILL spend more than I did on this truck in getting it, but as I said, the new truck comes with the correct 402/400 including everything for the engine (carb, intake, air cleaner, brackets, A/C, etc etc...

So I'm willing to pay more. In the end I feel it's a good investment if I want a chance at getting top $$$ for the truck.

And, someone will get a good deal on a nice SWB BB Super truck when I sell this one

Or...I can always part it for at least what I have in it
BB specific parts
402 engine (out of chevelle) rebuilt with mild cam
Posi rear (373)
Tilt
Cheyenne super stuff
Cab and rolling SWB frame on rally wheels with good title and 67K original miles disc front 5 lugs with power steering
I count at least 3000 in value there.

For all the money and time you will have into it you are doing the right thing getting a numbers matching SWB BB truck to start with. The matching numbers make a huge difference at the high end of the price scale.

Not much air space

No room for me to move inside

Forgot to get pics of the tables, glass, fender, and grilles i had on the roof rack

Now that's CUBE UTILIZATION at it's finest. I'd have trouble finding room for a cigarette-butt in there. Nice Work!!
