Re: Long Time Coming......

I guess it has been a minute or two since I have done much on the 51 to update. As previously posted life with the in laws got in the way. I also decided it was time for a huge mechanical update project on my 55 BelAir that has taken center stage in my spare time.

Back in May I put the 55 on the lift and basically replaced all most everything mechanical. I know that is an off topic vehicle so I will refrain from talking about it or sharing pics here, but suffice it to say it has taken me a while to work on and $pend money on so little was getting done on the 51.

What I did do on the truck was bring the bed to school. With the help of my students I sanded it down and sprayed it in some black epoxy right before school got out in June for summer break.

Starting back in early September I have had some help from my 10th grade students doing the filler work on the bed. There is still done detail work and such to sort out, but I decided it was time for the next round of polyester primer. This will cure for a few weeks while I tend to my freshen, then starting on the next cycle I get the sophomores back we will start bocking and fixing anything that arises.

This is 4 coats of Evercoat Optex polyester primer. Yes it is bubblegum pink in color. If you don't know, that color is a built in guide coat. Once you break the top layer is grey underneath, any low spots remain pink and show more work needs to be done.

Stay tuned for more........
