Well I got the tailgate on, looks good and a bed mat for the floor of the truck that can be trimmed for a shortbed.

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!

Whats a good color? I was going to paint it orange with a white top, now maybe blue with a white top. I have a ways to go before that day comes when I have to decide what color and I am always looking at the cars on the road to see what colors are on them.

What ever color you pick buy alot of it! You might also want to check into those turn signals that the big rigs use showing a person getting run over on the inside corner! That is one long sob It does'nt look as long now that is it lifted a bit.

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!

I towed the suburban home on a flatbed with a tahoe like that, the tahoe got airborne when the sub was first on the trailer. Suckers are HEAVY!

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!

Worst part about pulling it was that the rear had no shocks (the mounts were broken). Once it started bouncing, it was like a bucking bronco errhh I mean bucking donkey. We had to improvise and tied cargo straps around the axle and frame, . The only time that was a problem after that was from Beaumont to Baton Rouge . Those roads suck!!

This may be a dumb question but you can buy 4 door 67-72 chevy's right? Like I can't find one anywhere and I didn't know if they all were custom home built or what...if anyone has one for sale or would be willing to trade it let me know

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!

Their were some built by coach companys but not alot and the ones that were don't look right to me. This one was built out of a 3 door burb with alot of extra work to get a working 4th door and a factory look to the truck.

That one is a 3 Door, but I'm sure ROK could make it a 4 door if you paid him enough.

Here's a link to mine.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=226302

It is actually a 67 cab that was cut in half and stretched 33 inches. The stretch part was hand fabricated. They're all for sale for the right price, . I think they are asking $45K for the Gold one.

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!

Only way to get one is to build it. They did make crew cabs, 3 door and NOTHING like what Rokcrln and Extd56 have done.

I think if somebody started making these, they would sell tons, I would buy one.
I dont know if this one is still for sale, and whatever the asking price is its worth every penny.

I am always amazed to see anyone do anything really well. Bodywork scares me. It looks fantastic. Keep up the great work.

I agree I keeped trying to get him to let me chop it down to a 5 1/2" bed like the new short crew cabs but he said it would be a waist not to use all the parking space allowed by law and then some

Looks good and your extended cab paint has burnt heat spots into my new 24" computer screen, thanks!!
