Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
You can buy that inside piece if the door from some places. I believe LMC has it. It's hard finding good doors down here in the South!

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
Neither! Haha I know that is not the answer that you wanted though haha. Having been down the aftermarket door road myself I would rather build a door out of scrap than use an aftermarket door again lol. Hopefully they have gotten way better since I last bought some. Absolutely love the 315s on the back btw. So want those on my truck. Did your wheels end up being 11 inches wide?

Thanks, yes the wheels are 11 inches wide. They did a good job on wielding them. I have the outer and inner door skin and was planning to repair it. When I opened the skin it was rotten. The door was repaired once before and they only made it worse! The inner supports for the hinges is done and there is a problem with the upper hing area. I have a cheap repop door and it is ****!! I'm hoping auto metal direct door is way better. I have read some good thinks about them. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
Update
The firewall is complete so is the rear of the cab. We are working on installing the new doors. It has been a hell of a job. We had to cut into the cab to make the gaps line up. I had to take the New window loops off of the doors and install the old factory loops because they fit way nicer. I hope to complete all the door work this weekend. Fingers crossed! We still have some work to do where we remove the drip rail. It is very hard to make the body lines look nice once you remove it. It is coming around. will this be the year??

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
finaly Finally the passenger door is Done!! Changing the doors was more work than a thought. These pictures are with the rubbers installed. Next we will work on the driver side door. It should not take as long because it fits a little better. After the doors are done we will install the cab on the chassis and fit the dog house together. I can not wait to see the cab on the chassis. It’s been a couple year since I have seen that.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
Your gaps turned out nice. I know what you mean I had to do a lot of cutting to open/close gaps. In the end they will look way better then how they came off the gm assembly line

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
Guys,
Just a little update on this project. Work is moving forward slowly. I added the lip to hide the edge of the boards. Then shave the bed corners and body worked it all. I spend some time working on the gaps on the tailgate. THIS PROJECT WILL NEVER END! Who idea was this… HAHA

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
Guys,
We have been fighting the flow of the cab where we shaved the drip rail. I think we finally got it right. It’s hard to see what we did in these pictures but here you go. I will get some better picture soon. Our next step is to put the cab on the front with the front clip. This will be a glories day, cross your fingers that it happens in September. Talk to you guys later.
