Re: 24 years later....here we go
I got the rear bumper on today. It took a few minutes because of the frame I had built for the fuel tank, but it worked out good. Went up to the courthouse and picked up the tags. I sure like the Texas black and white plates. To me they look like they are supposed to on this pickup.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
I've driven it a little bit Zoomin'. Im waiting to get the Coys and Toyos on and take it for an alignment and then for a dyno tune to verify that I have everything set right. Probably overkill on this little carbureted engine but it will give me peace of mind that the timing and everything is right. But yes, its on the road again....

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Those that follow my thread please say a prayer for our fellow board members and other residents of Oklahoma due to these terrible storms. These pickups seem so insignifigant when you see peoples lives lost and changed forever. So, God bless our friends, new and old, in Oklahoma....

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Nice looking job, It's almost identical to mine, that I have had done for 16 years.
One question, I notice the dryer for the a/c is still on the rad support. So did you go R12 or update to 134. If you updated does it work with that configuration? |

Re: 24 years later....here we go
It is a 134 system. It is Old Air, similar to Vintage Air. Im not an AC guy, just installed it as instructions showed. So yes the dryer is out front and it is 134

Wheels are Coys C57 polished. There are some pics a couple of pages back on this thread. Tires are 255/45/20 and 295/40/20

Re: 24 years later....here we go
I figured you would be at the front door of the tire shop when they opened this morning.
Looks like you've got plenty of clearance there. Looks really good - so much better!! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Thanks NewType72, the C57's are really nice. I was wanting something that resembled the BS roulettes. Weather they do or not I dont know but I like em too! Just need the rears..
Thanks to everyone for the comments. I made some good choices based on good info provided on this forum. I found a great painter and have made new friends that I met on here. What a great resource for all of us....sniff sniff Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by hfd410; 05-26-2013 at 10:41 PM. Reason: Content |

Re: 24 years later....here we go
What's your experience with Coys? I've read, all over this site that they are horrible about getting wheels out on time, or bad customer service, but their product is great. Is your experience that they're just backed up, or did they have your front wheels in stock and have to make your rears... maybe something else entirely? I'm just curious. My wife agreed with me on those same wheels, in chrome. I can't see going polished when it sits outside all the time and it trades daily driver duty with my '05 G6 GT. Plus, my wife can't see spending $$$$ on billets when it's not a show truck... yet
Anyway, I'm just wondering what it will be like when I finally get around to getting new wheels for the truck.
