Switched the solid fan mount for a thermal fan clutch. Sooo much quieter and no more belt squeals when I speed up :-) very happy

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well, craigslist tempted me again. Bought some basically new 2011 Dodge wheels with tires a week or so ago. And today they got installed. I still need to get some center caps but couldn't wait to get the wheels on. I love the stock look but I love the other look too!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Doesn't that only work on a posi type, I think if no posi then put one tire on the ground and spin one tire and count the revolutions and times by 2, I think. I know if posi just put both tires in air and count as you said, guess it will be obvious.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Helpd my son swap out his slider for a solid rear window on his 69. And I finally got my gas gauge to work....dropped the rear tank and pulled out the sender and the brass float had a hole and was full. Installed a new float and it works!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I took truck out for its first cruise. It ran beautiful. Still have some air in the breaks. I went to a swap meet and found rear slider for ten bucks and a bench seat for fifteen. The buckets are pushing me too far forward. I like the way they feel but I have long legs and need the room. Took truck down to my moms and took her for a ride. We went over and saw my brother and he remembers my Dad and I driving into the yard in 1972. He was very emotional and it made for a great moment. I was 8 years old and remember it vaguely. I do remember watching rudolph the red nose and Dad asking me iof I want to go get a new truck and the salesman helping me up into the truck. Any way I am very happy to be able to drive the truck and can't wait to get all the bugs out of it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
This was last night. I yanked out some heated coils and finished assembling my front suspension. I installed 2.5" drop spindles with 2" drop coils and did the caster mod by moving my lca forward .75". Had to do a little "massaging" as the caster mod moves the coil forward along with the lca . All turned out great and now I have a solid front suspension that should give me a nice ride. I hope to find out how nice by June and be driving this again . It's been a little over 8 years since I parked it. Gah!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Did not do a thing on my '67 yesterday. I did however go to my son's house and help him a little putting the 454 back in his '70 swb stepper.
He had to take the engine out to fix some oil leaks on the oil pain and timing chain cover. I almost forgot he also replaced the oil pan because it was not giving enough clearance between it and the cross memeber. While I was there we talked over plans for the '71 he is building to sell, plans for the work on my '67 swb stepper and the upcoming the car show season. I guess I need to take pictures of his truck and post them on here.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Done for the day! New plugs(all 8 of the old ones look dark gray), LOF, diff & trans full, dwell & timing both fine, vac gauge shows 17in, cleaned/oiled the K&N, clutch adjust & lube cross shaft, tire rotation, and pulled the drivers door panel off to fix a recent clunking sound. The OO installed chrome metal door speakers, and the magnet fell off & was banging around inside the door.
Rest of the day belongs to me! |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Just finished removing old glasspacks and replaced with Flowmaster Super 44's. Welded everything in place just need to find some tips. I love the sound compared to those old rusty glasspacks. Up next is new steering wheel.
