My '59 Apache

When working on my 50 F1, I put the bed on my utility trailer. Made it nice to roll outside and work on it, then move it inside when done.

On the trailer, moving it is a one person job. If not, it takes 2-4 people to move it around on the ground or other solid support.

Keep up the good work.

Remember - any project is good progress.

Thank you Orrie! I helped my brother remove a bed off of his '82 chevy stepside, but I remember nothing about it, so it must not have been very bad! lol Nowadays, I don't lift anything that's awkward, heavy (if I can help it), that's why the Little Mules are so important!

ah hah~ exactly my thoughts! oh, a 50 model F1? I'd like to see that I've been so involved with my Chevy, I'd like to see a Ford(hush my mouth!)

i used 4 guys to pick up my bed with the fenders and trunk lid on it, no one was straining a nut

Wow, Ogre that is a cool picture of your bed!
Fortunately, when I bought my truck, the new wood and chrome strips came with it, and the hardware!
However, today is- clean the garage day!!

I spent the entire day cleaning, throwing stuff away, organizing~ actually found some things I've been looking for~! Now I'll make better progress when I get back at it!




OH, when I was looking for my door panels up in the attic, I found these bezels that are painted the same color as the truck~ didn't even know I had em! Now I can change to looks of the truck with simply changing out the bezels!

Since I've been installing parts into the truck, my garage is getting roomier! As for Gary, he works most of the day, but when he came home yesterday, I was excited to show him the garage and how tidy it was!
Today our granddaughter will be staying overnight, she's 5~ I think we'll probably watch a kids movie in the truck And while she's watching movie, I can, maybe, get a little more cleaning done.

Obviously a while back judging by the trucks condition. She like to take a spray bottle with water and clean the dash of the truck. In the near future, I hope to be taking her to local car get togethers and make memories to last!

I went ahead with the stock headliner and dome light. The headliner isn't perfect, but seems like nothing I do is perfect I still need to work on the headliner in a couple places, but I'm pleased how it brightens up the cab inside! I used radiant barrier above the liner.

The hood latch which is a Dynacor had me worried a bit, but one of the members on here said it looked Ok, so I closed the hood and it's great! shuts tightly and opens easily!
So, this was a relatively easy day except my arms didn't hold up too well to hold the headliner up~ doesn't weigh anything, but my arms wore out so quickly!

Howard, I feel your excitement and you get the truck at your home soon! What was the deal on the tires/wheels? were they nice looking wheels? Are they worth making an offer~ maybe you'll see them pop up on CL for a cheap price?

I told him to put the crappy ones on and take off the Rally Wheels, and he is taking the Battery out of the Truck...He doesn't know I am buying it so soon

Sounds like a tight SOB! I'd probably give the rally wheels with the truck. Just don't show over excitement when you go to buy it! Play with this purchase and see how good a buyer you are. I have people that show up here to purchase things from me off of CL and I'm ALWAYS talked down in price, but I'm an easy target and men take advantage of my kindness~

You only get to buy this truck once, put a couple hundred in your wallet,(offering 800) or better yet, leave that couple hundred at home. Lie a little bit, or excuse me, a little white lie "this is all I have", "my dog is sick"! lol Use this website saying your friends say 800, and only 800, or less. Argh~Start low! Flash the 600 bucks in his face, cash is powerful! Walk around the truck, point out the rust again.

So, when you get it home, what is The First thing you're going to do?

I think so too. What is your complaint about it?

My roof has crusty rust on the underside. I plan to flap disk it off, wipe it down with Ospho on a rag, then after it dries use acetone to clean it as well as I can. I suppose I will use the KBS I have after that and then glue a stock headliner in as I assume you did?

Is the "radiant barrier" you used the stuff with little air pockets in it? The stuff you can get from Home Depot, Lowe's etc? I've wondered about using Peel 'n Seal up there. It'll get hot up there for certain and even though everyone says it won't come down, I worry. What adhesive did you use for the radiant barrier and the headliner?

Hey Dan! Well, I didn't show one corner that needs some attention, not bad. I think I can trim the plastic headliner (yes, it's plastic ABS kind of stuff, but a little more flexible, but still somewhat rigid). My truck was painted already, inside and out, and the inner portion where I put the radiant barrier was clean. yes, it's the same bubbly aluminum looking stuff that you can buy in a roll at HOme depot/lowes, etc,. I cut it the same size as the headliner, then I put the radiant barrier up by itself. It's rigid enough that I didn't have to glue it and it stayed put. There is very little space between the headliner and the interior cab! Then I wrestled with the headliner and finally got it in. Before you would put the headliner, be sure your dome light wiring is up there already as it runs along the drivers side headliner area and the wiring goes down the post/window then exits under the dash. Luckily my wire to my dome light was still there, otherwise you'd have to devise a way to pull the wire through that same way. If you have any questions, I'm always around!
