Re: Truckseats Photobook
^^ What he said, I've got some highlander seats that are going to need to be recovered soon but I was going to wait with hopes of being able to get some with the center scroll.

I ordered quite some time ago (as in EALRY 2013...), but it was worth the effort. Having said that, now that it's been done, I think SMS would be able to handle this again much more easily. Regardless, I would recommend having the materials sent to Tim so he can have them stitched up. The poc at SMS that will know what I'm talking about is at this email (sorry, I forgot his name): questions@smsautofabrics.com or 505-263-3535. And, of course, Tim knows how this is done also - but the raw materials are an SMS gig for now. Rumor is that they will possibly start making these available without having to do it as a custom job. That would be nice as it would probably be less expensive, but, what they hey, just had to have a correct scrolled seat in this truck for some crazy reason. Again, Tim was VERY helpful and we were both very patient - the process included SEVERAL returned orders to SMS for wrong color of vinyl, etc etc. And Tim was the go-between quality screener on all this, very much appreciate his help. Once all the correct materials were finally in his hands, it didn't take very long to get this done. |

Re: Truckseats Photobook
Price for black vinyl with white/black houndstooth inserts for buddy buckets like the seat below. Also need foams for both seats, do you do a package deal for the new foam and covers if bought together?

Re: Truckseats Photobook
Got my Black Houndstooth last week and back from the upholster this afternoon. Great craftsmanship!
And my little buddy seems to like them too.

Re: Truckseats Photobook
Here is mine done by Truckseats. I am very happy with the quality. I ordered the fabric from SMS fabrics and sent it to him to sew it into the vinyl. Amazing what 40 hours in foam reconstruction and a new cover will do....
How she looked before-

Re: Truckseats Photobook
Truckseats,
I'd like to find out about getting my second row seat covered to match (as close as possible) the front seat of my '72 Suburban. Only issue is that the second row seat is from a '86 Blazer. I attached a couple of photos. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Bill

Re: Truckseats Photobook
I like the seats they look really good in your truck! I also noticed the steering wheel in your pic, so I checked out your photo book. Wow, what an awesome truck!! Question about your steering wheel. Did you re-size it your self. What diameter is it? I have one of those wheels to put on my truck, and am considering cutting it down to a smaller size.

Re: Truckseats Photobook
If ordering from sms what would suggest to prevent problems? Was it shading problems or the wrong color? I called them today and they seemed to know what I was talking about. They had the prices for the trim and vinal with scroll. John

Re: Truckseats Photobook
They shipped to Tim (Truckseats) in Saddle vinly first, I think. It was just a mistake, but took a bit of back and forth (and a little bit of the dissatisfied customer phone call to get things off top dead center). Tim intercepted and corrected them before it was too late (stitched up) but it added a LOT of wasted time. If you want a correct Highlander cover, I'd do this:
Contact Tim (Truckseats) and ask him for his email address for the purpose of arranging a Highlander cover "like jocko's" with him AND sms on the email at the same time, on the same email (except make sure you tell him if you want orange, gray, blue, or avocado plaid, of course) - then email Tim AND SMS at the same time, on the same email and let them both know what you want. Saves Tim arrangement and middleman time and makes sure everyone is on the same page. The SMS contact is: info@smsautofabrics.com the same guy will answer every time - it's great that you've already contacted him. On the email, make sure you all get all the shipping addresses correct. SMS needs Tim's (they have it) and Tim needs yours. Tell him and Tim you want the exact same cover they built me (with appropriate plaid color) and the SMS guy (sorry, can't remember his name) will know exactly what you're talking about - ensure you specify "parchment" for the vinyl - he'll get the right stuff, I'm almost certain. My name is Mark Johnson, they can look up the order and he'll remember the snafu with the parchment color and not hose it up again. Then have the vinyl (with debossed scrollwork) and plaid material shipped to Tim at Truckseats and he'll stitch you up a winner. I expect the process would be MUCH smoother this time around now that everyone involved is familiar with it. SMS was helpful, once prodded, and I think they would be more responsive now. Tim's work is excellent and you'll be very happy. Once Tim gets it stitched up, he ships to you. You do not collect the materials, it just goes SMS to Tim to you. Hope that helps. |

Re: Truckseats Photobook
I sent Tim a pm to get this process started. SMS said I would need 1 3/4 yards of fabric to do a bench seat. Is that what you ordered or did you get a little extra?
