Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
Some close ups, its tough to match patina, what I decided to do is match the old rocker I cut off as a good example.

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
Speaker grille is in on the driver side door. Next to get all of the brackets and hardware on the backside in place. Now that its winter I am able to work more continually, but when I get off work it is pitch black so doing any large amount of grinding waits till the weekend. Thats okay though, theres always something to do on a project!

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
They work good. The thermal insulation is a good idea. I would put the head on the engine side to make it look cleaner, they seal much better than the plastic plugs.

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
I have been working on some wiring lately, and got around to testing the audio system since I have it wired up. It sounds GREAT. That Basslink is super punchy, the 6.5 Kappas are great at really pushing the music through the truck. I did have one bad wire running into the door speaker, so I had to work backwards and rewire that, which was a pain to determine since I had to tear the sound 'board' I made apart to determine the failure. It all works now though, so thats good!
I did finish the EFI wiring, so I need to dial in the Dual Sync distributor, and get the Sniper programmed for my setup, and I will be able to run it again. We are close.

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
Crazy to think this is the same area, on the same truck, about a year or two apart!

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
That looks great especially knowing it's solid now. There are times I wish I went this way with paint rather than a full blow apart. Nice work.

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
Working on exhaust. Theres always something to do even when waiting on parts to move forward somewhere else! This is my first time making pie cuts to create a tighter bend, and it came out OK. Working with some not-so-amazing exhaust pieces but so far its working.
Ive got just about everything wired up, but am waiting on some break-in oil to run in the motor during initial start. The motor has been broken in, but it has been a couple years since I have run it. I am very close, I can almost smell the exhaust leak!

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
I am always watching other builds and one thing Ive noticed, especially on the Roadster shop stuff, is the use of some modern emissions stuff. Now, by no means am I a guy who would throw a whole modern emissions system on an old vehicle (due to its complexity and my lack of interest) but the charcoal canister that modern cars use to kill gas vent fumes is great. So, I made one out of PVC, with a scotchbrite pad on each end to filter and activated charcoal/carbon to filter the smell. It came out well!

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
I like that design. I'm planning on running a cannister also, fumes in the garage = fumes in the house.

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)
I’m restoring a 67, and am curious if your lower cab corner lip was spot welded to the inner rocker/floor in line and similar to how the outer rocker is? My factory assembly manual says three spots go there, but my truck had none. Also, when I try to pull the cab corner and inner rocker to meet there, it doesn’t appear like they would want to be joined there (the floor flange is almost too short and you’d have to pull the two very hard to meet. I know later trucks have them welded there.
