Re : WIndshield Rubber
Be smart and buy ALL your body rubber from Steele Rubber Co. ~ it's good stuff and MADE IN AMERICA too so it'll last as well as fit correctly the first time out , unlike that Chinese crap .

Bought a 350 from my father in law and started to replace every gasket in it before I remove the six and go with the eight.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Got the front mostly put back together. Waiting on the hood trim. Probably going to sand the GMC down all the way, fill the center full of the same color blue, and clear coat it. Saw a set of GMC lettering when I was at Classic Heartbeat last week picking up my fender patch, was tempted to get it, but this is only a temporary job until I move and will be stripping it all down.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
yhea its a long stepper.I'm dying too get this fiberglass later style bed off my 67. So I'm sorry to tell you that my plans are too shorten it up unless another really cheap short stepper pops up.I really dont have any use for the really clean 292 either.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well its been a while but I found a heater core and cover from a pull a part. Cleaned up the leaves and dirt and when I was able to get the cover off I found a bunch of southern cotton stuffed in my heater core cover thanks to some rodents.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I changed the pitman arm on the 71 yesterday and boy howdy what a difference getting that bit of slack out of the steering makes.
I've been slowly rebuilding the front end and steering one piece at a time as I get extra money to buy a few more parts. I've found that if you look up the chassis parts on the O'Reilly's site and then put the Moog part number in the search on Ebay you can come up with some great deals on Moog Chassis parts. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
They are just Boss 338's, 20x10 rear and 20x8.5 front...just like a lot of the other guys. I will be at the Brother's show but I don't think my truck will be done. If it is complete enough to drive, it won't have the wood in the bed and won't be color sanded or buffed. I doubt it will be done though, I still have interior to do which depends on others to complete (I can't control when it is finished).

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Glad you are going, a lot of guys would not go if their truck is not done. It will be good to catch up, bring pictures of the progress

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I'm building a wagon and got most of the bed roughed in. The chassis is done except for paint. Basically a 1/2 scale shortbed with full working suspension...
