Congrats Big Jim! My junk won't run yet! Yet being the key word! I am gonna try another dominator in the morning if that doesn't help maybe another camshaft!

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
They are Kirkey's! They are just a padded aluminum seat but they hold you in real well!
I am at a loss with my junk it actually ran pretty decent off and on today! My problem (whatever it is) comes and goes!

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Are you running a crank trigger? make sure it is the correct polarity and that the wires do not run with(touch) any other wires. I also had a fan motor going south that effected the crank trigger. Did you "phase" the dizzy? check to make sure the rotor is pointing at #1 at TDC

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
It does have a trigger and it is phazed and the wiring has not changed since last year. The only thing different is I'm using 16 volt batteries! We thought we may have had a bad pickup so I borrowed one the wires match up color to color!

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
How did the fuel pressure turn out?
16 volt and fuel pressure just turned on a light bulb upstairs! Might be over running the regulator. |

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
You aren't the only one who thought that voltage might have been a problem but my regulator has a -10 supply and a -10 return line! It was running good again tonight with the 16 volt but for the heck of it I swapped to a 12 volt it still ran good then the gremlins returned! I'm confused!

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
I did try a new dominator but it did not have progressive secondaries so it was really strange!

Cooper and I talked a while ago. Next time it acts a fool throw the timing light on it. Maybe the MSD is bouncing the retard on.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Hey Big Jimzlll
did you buy those headers ready to install or did you build them yourself? Hard to find big tube headers for our trucks , found some weld up stuff that they say I can make fit but I will probably need a few extra bends also. Very cool ride. keith

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
My junk still has the factory front end ( at least for now) .
Just finished the backhalf all Moser with a ladder bar set up and looking to put in a 567 profiler bbc and a better glide so gonna need a good sized header tube. I guess with a little patience I can probably build a set or modify an existing set. I really like the over the frame look, be it helps keep the starter cool. Thanks Guys Keith

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Jim what does your truck weigh? That frontend looks light. Do you still have trailing arms?

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Kevin, It weighs 3200lb...and I don't know how to make any lighter...except a glass cab and doors.
The bedsides weigh about 35lbs each..the fenders weigh 20lbs each..hood weighs 35lbs. I put a lexan windsheid in...not much weight savings there. The doors are real heavy...guess I'll get the plasma cutter out...lol I have 36" long double adjustable ladder bars. I ran 4 9.93's in a row on friday night. That was spinning bad in 1st gear...but atleast it spins consistantly...lol
