Re: Project Roxy
Well, I'd have pics of the new wheels and brakes, but when I went to mount the rear wheels I found out the centerbore was incorrect.
Waiting to see what can be done.

Re: Project Roxy
Did you tell them the wrong center bore diameter when ordering them or did Billet Specialties make them wrong?

Re: Project Roxy
When speaking with the person I ordered them from (a member on this board). I told them it was for a 69 C10 with stock rear axles. I reasonably assumed that it would be addressed.
There are some reasoning. Its possible that with the disk brake conversion the wheel sits further in. I have some options on the table. Worst being pulling the tire off and send the wheels back.

Re: Project Roxy
This order form usually covers all the possible issues,...
http://www.billetspecialties.com/ass...asureGuide.pdf The member you ordered from, knows these old trucks,... so BS probably made the mistake.

Re: Project Roxy
Zero issues when I ordered my BS SL Vintecs for my all stock '69.... I'd be curious what you find out the cause is from. Here's the specs I provided when I ordered my wheels:
Front: 20x8.5" w/ 5.5" BS - Center Bore: 3.430 - Bolt Pattern: 6 on 5.5" Rear: 20x10" w/ 4.75" BS - Center Bore: 4.250 (due to the center hub on the rear axle of my '69 [meas. 3.5"; BS only offered 3.43]) - Bolt Pattern: 6 on 5.5"

Re: Project Roxy
The person I ordered from said a 3.43 bore size was ordered. He used the same bore size on a 65 suburban a few weeks earlier with no issues. I'm going to measure the wheel and axle tonight to see how much they are off.

Re: Project Roxy
The 'center' on the axle seemed large in dia. but using the caliper tool, I knew for a fact the 3.43 bore wouldn't work.
Did they use a '65 rear axle?

Re: Project Roxy
I'd be curious to know what center bore you ordered and what rearend they were installed on.

Re: Project Roxy
Must have a different rear axle, or another infamous change by GM.
Sorry to hear that didn't work out as planned. I measured my setup countless times over a couple of months, and made sure to take into consideration other peoples measurements but knew that no two trucks are alike. Plus I had some great assistance from two people particularly in running numbers and every possible option by them. They were sick of me by the time I placed my order. Ha! Heck, if I remember correctly... I might have even contacted BS when I ran across the center bore dia. for the rear axle and I think they even stated I would be fine with 3.43" which made the order that more nerve racking. I figured with the center bore that to much wouldn't impact the function of the wheel that much, unlike backspace measurements.
