Re: 1955 12 Valve NAPCO Clone

Ok so I've been doing some craigslisting and I've come across a few gems. If I could just get someone to give me $9,500 for my 68 chevy Id be in good shape. Remember they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery.
the 55 is $5,000 and the 1991 is $4,500 with 132k on it!

Right on! They really make a good combo! Someone might know better than me but I think that is 56 truck? I think the hood is different than the 55.

I guess I can say now my truck is worth at least $9500! I got some more pictures for you guys I found.

These two trucks are owned by a fella from Kentucky named Jeff Patterson. He is a really nice guy and has some awesome old pickups. Here is a video Holley did on his trucks at the Hotrod Reunion a few years ago.

We are currently battling some illness in my family. Your prayers are appreciated. This has delayed my Dmax swap but there are more important things in life currently. I hope all is well with you! I figured when the snow starts falling, you'd be out having fun with the Napco!

Yes Luther . Make sure you take what ever illness you and your family have to deal with and kick its ass. Family first projects second . It's not like they are going to finish themselves . but if they do let me know how you did that and let me know . Lol.

Happy thanks giving ? You crazy Americans thanks giving was weeks and weeks ago. That's how you know it time to put the boat away . If thanks giving we're now we would be all screwed up,the boat would befrozen in !

Take care .

Hey 6BT 56! Things are going ok for us. We are still battling illness but praying for resolve. I do have some cool news! We bought a house. I hope my wife is happy with the house. I know I am happy with the garage space… for now! The house has an oversized 2 car attached and a detached 24’ x 30’ garage. The 55 barely fits in the detached garage.

It fits better in the house garage.

I haven’t had much time to work on the 55 recently. We have had about 14 weddings to go to this summer from Tennessee all the way to California! I do get the truck out every now and then and put it to work!

Other projects that I have tried to devote some time to are the Duramax swap for my Crew Cab Chevelle.

I got the truck moved to my new house back in late May. I have slowly been taking it apart in preparation for removing the engine.

Which would leave me with a perfectly good 4 wheel disc brake 2006 Chevy 1 ton chassis. Hmmm…. This leads me to the question I asked on another thread. I found this truck a couple of months ago but I am not sure if it is worth what he is asking. Especially with a busted front window. What are y’all’s thoughts about a frame swap using this cab?

Obviously I am close to running out of room for all these projects. The 55 Low Cab Forward body would be an ideal fit as I have all the brake components to make it work and the steering box is already setup at a steep angle with the van chassis.

Re: 1955 12 Valve NAPCO Clone

Luther, I really wish your family the best with the illness! That's awesome you got a new house! We got our first house at the end of April. I wish it had a second garage like yours does. Man, I'd find another engine for the chevelle crew cab and stick that LCF cab right on your van chassis. I sold my 54 COE and I regret it. But, I had to liquidate to get into something with a peak.

Re: 1955 12 Valve NAPCO Clone

I still love this truck. Man is it cool. Then there's the '65. Good grief that thing is so neat. I wish I could find one just like it, but in a dark green. My mother drove a '65 Malibu more door to high school. It was jacked up and looked the part. I've always wanted one for no other reason than to cruise on....lol. Is there a build thread on the '65? Thanks for the updates.

Re: 1955 12 Valve NAPCO Clone

Hey Luther that's some pad you have there . Looks great . Two garages ! Sweet. Is there even a house ? Who cares two garages ! Lol. Nice to see the old truck earning it's keep . I'm looking forward to seeing the crew cab getting its swap soon. I'm not a huge fan of the Coe trucks . Big Bertha is a exception tho. With that mans abilities and attention to detail he could make a Lada cool. I hope all your family stuff comes out ok . We will be thinking of you up here .

Fire off some more house pics so e time .
Take care .

Re: 1955 12 Valve NAPCO Clone

I think the Coe would be bad! Why not leave the duramax in that frame and make a car hauler with the Coe cab? The duramax Chevelle would be cool but I think a classic Coe with a duramax would be something different. Old motor home chassis' are common on these Coe builds. How much does he want for it? If your on Facebook check out "Killer COE's and 1 tons!" Lots of builds and knowledgeable people there. Congrats on the new house! I'm moving to a house in a couple of weeks with a 20x30 shop for one of my builds and I'm excited
