Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
meh, the trunk and top dont look great but i figured out why. My gun was partially clogged...How i managed to get it this decent is beyond me....
I need to align the hood too..It is all off whack...Too close on the passnger side and too far away on the drivers side...It look like it needs the front driver side to just be pulled over a bit....

By the time you get all the trim and stuff back on, it will look so cool you won't notice the little stuff.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Hahaha!! Yeah, that is true but this weekend im putting the stripes on!! Just adjusted the hood..That was easy...Loosen the screw on the passenger side and pull it up a 1/4" in... Nice and straight gaps now...All though the hood does quiet close flush on the passenger side

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Got the driver fender attached to the pillar since the bolt was MIA....Got the hood adjusted finally after figuring out the last guy had put a patch there, regular bolts, and no lock washer...Wow, what a pain re-alligning but its much better now. Managed to put a small ding in the hood while aligning but should but able to push it back out. Couple small scratches on the door from god knows what...but is still pretty. I should learn to leave things be lol

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
I got some sound deadener at ABC supply. It's roofing stuff, but rubber-y and stick-y. Rus knows what it's called. I can't remember.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
I was looking on your wish list or things to do list, and you want a 3 point seat harnesses. You want to do that before carpet installation and head liner. Obviously before the headliner. You'll have to weld a nut, or nut bar for the upper mount. I welded my lower bracket in as well as bolted it. I suppose carpet would be the last thing you want to install.
This is how I did the rear seat belts. Jury is still out on whether on not I like the hydraulic hood opener. You can just see my weld burns on either side of the bolt which holds the retractor in place. The plate which the retractor is bolted to is inside the wheel well. The upper part installed, I worked on the headliner wrinkles using a steamer to shrink the headliner taking out most of those lines. The carpet hadn't been installed yet nor sound deadener. This package tray is ok, the plastic is thick, I have sound deadner to reduce the vibration noise from the plastic. The built in speaker pods are very close to the glass, about 3/16" I'd say. If I wanted tint, it may be a bit difficult, but I could remove the package tray if I ever should want to do that. However, to remove the package tray is a pretty big deal. You can just make out the seat belt coming through the package tray. This was on my photobucket~ I love the trilogy of Back to the Future!

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Ripped out the headliner, wire wheel the roof, sprayed it with rust encapsulation, wire wheel the driver side floors and more and rust encapulation all over them.
Install the trim clips for the windshield even though i had two extra as the drivers side lower corner and passenger side top corner clip location is missing...hmmm Cleaned the urethane off the windshield and put the new gasket on it and ran some 12 gauge wire to prep it for install..I may give that a go tomorrow. I have watched Mustangs To Fear video a million times and have all the sealant. I figured if i can get it in tomorrow i will then let it sit a day or so for the urethane install into the gasket

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
aren't you supposed to install your headliner before the front and rear glass? Mustangs to fear~ one piece headliner?

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Yes if it was a stock like headliner but I will be using a one piece headliner that doesnt wrap around the pinch weld

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Windshield is in..... Was a royal pain in the ass.. I got beading compound everywhere including my hair. Some parts of the gasket tore and it took me all day.. However it is in, and it is sealed. I still have to put urethane on it against the glass but on the rear I may just put it in dry and them inject the beading compound after today. I had to use gas to wipe it off the glass and the car and now im worried that it may of messed up the paint but i cant tell as of right now...blah

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
You now have a new experience to share Next time you may want to place blue tape where you don't want adhesive/sealer/ or whatever the stuff is called, but it looks really good!
