i dont remeber just how much shorter it is but seems too work well in the kids 67. Dont mind his sloppy installation the cluster rubber dont need too be squished like that. And his no longer needed choke cable stretched across the colum. He needs something cool too fill the knob hole like a delete thingy. The motor home was a 70's chev van with a fiberglass aero looking front clip and a box type home in the back. Not a huge travel home but certainly differnt looking. It had a auto shifter on the dash just off the side of the engine cover.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
My Red 67 is getting a update. I am getting ready to start my 6.0L on the test stand. This will replace my 350 vortec roller motor, I am so done with carburetors. Also swapping out my built 200R4 for a T56 too. Out with the old in with the newer.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Decided to do a rattle can fauxtina as I do the body work on my truck. Just don't like plain primer. I'll sport this till I get the funds to tear it down for a complete refinish. About a quarter of the way done. Should have less than $80 in paint once completed. I sprayed and scuffed with red scotch Brite pads.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
After I installed the disc brake upgrade a few weeks ago, I pulled a rear drum to check the brakes. We're going to go camping soon, and I needed to see what I had. Shoes are about 70% there, but the rear wheel cylinder is seeping. I think I was the last one in there to do brakes when my FIL still owned it. That would have been around y2k. No surprise that they are leaking, after 16 years. I'll get new wheel cylinders on Monday. Also scraped about half a pound of greasy dirt of the inside face of the wheel. Must have had a leaky rear seal at some point. Ran all new trailer wiring (ast week), since I put in a Prodigy electronic trailer brake with an accelerometer instead of a hydraulic line running into the cab.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
This past weekend we loaded up the old bed to be taken to the metal scrap recycle facility. We threw a lot of stuff into the bed for convenience sake. This is it's final load it will ever haul.
My wife asked if I played "Taps" while we were loading it up! Onto another important question... I found an 86 C10 fuel tank (cheap), I have been wanting to move the gas tank from the cab to under the bed, I don't want to put it where the spare is supposed to be, my understanding is that the frames are very similar, would this tank work? I understand that I may need to make brackets or supports that are not on mine, I don't want to just waist time & $$$ if it wont work at all. BTW 70 C10 LWB 2WD. The guy says it has in tank fuel pump and level, etc... |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
In the process of replacing the shaft seal on my TH350 I had to remove the linkage that goes from the frame to the trans. I discovered a lot of wear in the metal U piece and the shaft that is on the frame bracket. Filled the notches with weld and put it back together. The sloppy shift at the column is all nice and tight now.
Wish I had taken pictures of the process, but I had no idea this would help so much.
