Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I actually got out there and spent a few hours cleaning the front end up to paint. Starting to get in the mood to work on it again.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I didn't do anything to the truck, but I did buy a new rebuild kit for my Demon carb! Anyone want a 750 Holley, never had gas in it!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Worked on my front cross member for my back half today. Its a little over built but its for my wishbone link. I messed up and cut my tube wrong so now the seam faces the wrong way wich is one of my pet peaves, so I'll try and sand that down and make it look as un noticable as possible.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

wired new fancy plug to the alternator...

removed, tested and replaced with a new... engine module.

ran a test to confirm if alternator was charging... it was.

Pulled voltage regulator and bought a new one.

I hope to replace that, tomorrow. I also hope my headlights come back on...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I installed my fuel sending unit and made brackets to mount the tank to the frame. Only one old strap holding the tank. I'm sure glad it never broke.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I installed the new voltage regulator and ran a ground wire from the ground post on the new alternator.

The biggest aggravation were getting the nuts onto the 3 bolts that hold the v. reg. to the radiator support.

yeesh!

it is running and charging again tho', so yay!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I moved my truck out of the garage yesterday to work on my buddies Honda, then moved it back in today. I took a pic because I thought it looked cool. I had to have him sit in the engine bay and put gas in the carb out of a bottle because my fuel pump went out.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Cut the exhaust off of my truck right off the manifold, de-rusted and painted the headers, got that little 6 running a bit better. More to come tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Made templates & started fabbing my new rear upper shock mounts. I needed 17" overall length @ ride height & was shooting for 60° angle. I think my number crunching worked . . ....

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Took the panel out and gave her a top off of petro. I averaged 11.7 mpg on the only tank I have checked.
That includes her sitting at idle in the garage multi times and draining the line to replace the sending unit. It's good to see the gauge working.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I sanded some of the rust off of my roof and then spread a little filler and got it sanded back down.
