I found some newer metal with diamond pattern to fix my window gap issue I had. Stripped the other panels to raw aluminum and will polish later. Now time for the top metal.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Picked up some parts, installed some parts, including the LH manifold. "Can't" do the RH manifold, decided to strip the powder coat off the A/C bracket to exhaust manifold in favor of ceramic. Coating guy says that one is free, so what the heck. Not taking any chances it melts all over the "new" manifold. Slow moving, but will get there eventually.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I put new LED tailights in the 67 GMC yesterday. Also installed the new led compatible flasher. Boy does that make a difference! I got new amber LED bulbs for the front that I'll put in this weekend.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got the transmission back. But there is a problem with the converter. It will not fully seat. Has me stumped never had this problem . So I'm bringing to the shop to let them figure it out. I got the converter from them as part of the rebuild. But I did manage to get the trans crossmember out. What a *****. Ended up grinding and drilling out the rivets that hold the wings on. Really see no reason for them but I'll just bolt them back in place. The crossmember was in remarkably good shape.

This reminds me. My sister told me be careful of handling bags of mulch and potting soil. Someone she knows found a snake and eggs in a bag that had either a hole in it or had been previously opened.

Went to get knobs but left with manual column and the whole dash. Pumped on cluster with no cracks and throttle knob. Also, put two windows in the camper shell. Need to finish before car show next weekend.

New shifter for the 5 speed. Looks more 1967. I'm thinking it needs more character, maybe some sweeping bends.

After seeing your post, I ordered one of these too. I told my wife it was your fault.

New master cylinder on the 68 and adjusted the brakes. New motor mounts on the 72. Transmission guy called the trans is all ready to go. He had to change the front bearing again now the converter slides right in .

Dash installation is complete on the 71 K10 Cheyenne. New Saddle dash pad, new cluster housing, new heater ducting, new steering wheel. Factory tilt column cleaned up nicely. Doors are next, then carpet and I'll finally get the Truck World Super Saddle seat in it. Can't wait

Is that the Amazon unit for like $60-70? I've used it on two builds now and been very pleased with them so far.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got my short block back from Schmidt Automotive today. I've been chasing a vibration in the GM crate engine every since I've had it. So I had them bore it .030, new domed pistons and new rods and bearings. Had the whole assembly balanced to boot. Old Red ought to run a lot better and have more oomph too boot. Raised compression from 8.5 to 9.4 with the domed pistons.
