Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Hey all, had it about two weeks. Going crazy will all the stuff I wanna do, but really enjoying driving it. 79 Cheyenne SWB. Goodwrench 350/th400. On the horizon are tires, headers, a little rust repair, and some engine clean up. I'm pretty new to this stuff, so I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot from me - I've learned plenty already and really appreciate the help!

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
For now, just little things here and there. It'll be a daily driver, so nothing too crazy, and I'm a fan of stock looks, so I have a feeling most of the changes will be under the hood. Cleaning up the firewall, pulling unnecessary emission vacuum parts (help!), headers, painting some stuff orange so it looks cool. First thing though is to fix the tranny. It's totally drivable, but occasionally sticks when coming out of a stop and can take 4 or 5 seconds to downshift into first. Otherwise, it shifts fine. From what I've read, it sounds like a stuck governor. We'll see. Thanks!

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Nice looking rig brother but I must say..."Go lower", that gap on the 18s has to be closed.
Either way, gorgeous truck. |

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Its been a ouple of weeks since I`ve posted...since then I`ve found out my frmae had damage which has made my rig sit horrible. Since then Ive lowered the rear and front an inch. Here is the new stance with some minor touches here and there.
The frame was damaged previously, the front driver wheel was sittin a whole inch towards the cab and inward. Fixed now. The front fender markers, turn signals and sway bar got some minor touch ups... |

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Thx bro. The wheels are Boss 338s. 20x8.5 and 20x10.5. Tires are 245/40 and 295/40 soon to be 315/35. The offset I have no idea about. These wheels only come in one offset, this size for our trucks from what I know.
I'll be installing a new bumper this weekend I'll take some pics of the front and post them. Posted via Mobile Device |
