Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I don't know - but, since you're interested, I did speak with the seller and he has zero interest in even dealing with shippers. Nice.. Anyway, maybe you'll have better luck with him - said he has a lot of local interest and sounded like he didn't want to be bothered (by us out-of-staters).

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
That's not a bad idea Greg. But it would somewhat defeat my goal of a great camper for a low price if I had to buy a truck to get it home (could always re-sell the truck I guess). It may come to that though, can't find crap in TX, apparently people here just slept on their horses in the 70s. All the nice campers are in Colorado (Mitchell was based there and the vast preponderance of Mitchells I see for sale are still in the state) and the NW states (WA, MT, OR, etc). Some in CA/UT neck of the woods, but not like the NW. I have a small subset of mfgrs I look for and the pickins are slim. Can always find something, just can't find something nice that also happens to be close. I need to get my truck done and just drive to the NW and stay until one comes up for sale. Or just stay period! FWIW, I don't think this Chinook requires a longhorn, should fit an 8' bed I believe.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I have been wanting to drive my 71 to that part of the country and spend a few days checking out the sights. However for one, time will not allow it right now or anytime soon. Two, I imagine a half ton would not appreciate the load with a lighter rated higher rear end.
It appears to have a fiberglass top which is awesome for longevity but if anything like a fiberglass service bed I have for a dually, they can be way heavier than one thinks. I imagine I better look for a light duty pull type but that thing is awesome for a 3/4 ton guy. If anyone has experience with a slide in camper like that on a period half ton I would like to hear it. |

Was sent this today, If I only had the cash.
https://albuquerque.craigslist.org/c...675282497.html I seen that too. Another awesome find that you just don't see. It would be really nice for short trips to a lake or something for a guy. I imagine she may like her fuel. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Not on Craigslist that I'm aware of but for sale here in my town, a very nice 1971 K5 Blazer. I called and spoke to Gary, the owner of the shop and he said hes asking 20k. It looks to be rust free and he said it is a great driving truck. He also said that his shop has installed a new interior and will be installing new side trim next week and the paint only needs buffing. Although one of my least favorite colors, I'd have to leave this one alone since its in such nice condition for original paint. Since I'm eyeball deep in my 72 project this one cannot be mine. I've committed to not buy another one until I've got mine moving under its own power. If anyone would like a particular pic lemme know, I'd be glad to help, plus it would give me the excuse to run down the road and get up close and personal with this beauty. When I took these pics the shop was closed so I only looked at it from over the fence.

Not craigslist, but man this one is beautiful. Everything about it is just the way I would build it. Like it came from the factory!

Anyway- there are a number of people that he has already talked to about that rig, so he's going to give me a call back if it doesn't sell before the weekend. If it's available- the wife and I gonna drive the old rig over there and see if it fits Owner lives in a gorgeous area of Montana- near the Big Hole and Wisdom. Unfortunately if that is the case- it ain't making its way to TX! |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Shorty P30 Gruman aluminum stepvan. $2000
I looked at this Sat. and it's just too small for my 2 person camper conversion idea. Body measures 8' from back of the door. Seems like a nice guy, used this for his electrical business for many years. Says it has about 25-30 thousand mi. on a Jasper 350/350 eng/trans. When he got a new work truck he was gonna use this eng/trans for a hot rod project but didn't. Has receipts for maint. on other components. I drove it around for awhile and it seems to drive & run good.... shifts, runs cool. PS, PB(hydroboost). It's USED & bumped up some ... RR corner(top) is crunched a little and the R.front glass is cracked. All the doors work. Looks like a pretty good deal for $2000. Wish it was about 2' longer for my purposes. https://spacecoast.craigslist.org/ct...671988290.html

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Tempting (and thank you), but for some reason I don't really like the look of the 10 footers hanging out on the down tailgate, looks like it's about to fall out It IS a nicer camper than an 8 footer, that extra 2' really helps, but I think I'm gonna have to pass. Thanks again though, much appreciated!
