Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

There was a set like that in north Carolina, it was a nova ad a square both painted orange with black stripes, my buddy bought the nova and another guy bought the truck, I see them both regularly I just wish they were parked beside each other

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

4-3/4" Front (3" spindles, 1 coil cut)
6" Rear (flip kit, shackles) I can lower the rear another inch with the shackles, but I need to notch the frame first.

I bought the everything from Stylin Concepts. I think 3" DJM spindles were $280 shipped. The flip kit was about $100. I've had the shackles and front shocks for about 8 years, so that won't help ya cause I know stuff has increased about 30% since then. I've checked everywhere and Stylin Concepts still seems to be the cheapest.

As far as rubbing... I haven't driven it yet.. I've been working on the engine a bit, so I'll let ya know what I find out. I'm most likely putting my Bonspeed sweeps on it for a bit. I know they wont rub.

Oh.... Actually... I won't be able to answer that rubbing question.. I've had the spindles for about 5 years on an older truck of mine... I did some grinding on the spindle to clear the 15" wheels I had at that time. But.. I have run 15" cragars with no rubbing issues on other DJM spindles.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Newb here. Awesome site, wish I knew about it 7 years ago...

Here's my '87 Silverado.

Hoping to get some advice:
I have 20x8s with a negative offset all the way around, but I am not happy with the stance or the way it drives. + My front wheels are bent from potholes. Should I go to 19s and get some more rubber on there or cut out the wheel wells and keep the 20s? Definitely need to get 20x10s on the back...

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Not sure on the wheels, I do like the 20/19 or 20/18 combo's though.

But I like the truck, and I am envious of those tail lights. Where might one find them?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

I still have a pair of those darn things sitting around from about 10 years ago. I don't think you can get em. I've seen them on a bunch of motorhomes.

Yes, clear ones are used on several motorhomes, as reverse light lenses. They are also often found as all amber and all red. They must be available somewhere.
