I will be there next year come hell or high water. As soon as a date is decided upon, let me know, and I'll take it off. On a good note, my bosses wife had a little girl Friday, and as far as I know, everything is fine with her. Maybe next year I'll actually be able to drive my 68 down there too
Also, I'm with Andy on the looks of Deans truck. I absolutely love that color combo!

I forgot to add....nice cougar in the background of the attached pic. My dad had a 67. What's the scoop on this one?

It is a 67 XR7, 289, 3 speed manual, practicly no rust, parked in 76 I think, less than 100K, Starts and runs, black leather int...not pleather or vinal...real friggen leather.
I have offered Mike my GMC, Longhorn, Town Car, AND Contour...but he won't trade. I have been drooling over that sucker for 6 months now, ever since he draged it home. I WILL re-live my teen years one day and get me a 67 or 68 Cougar. |

Holy crap, sounds like my dad's. He had a 67 XR7, red with a black vinyl top and black leather, hipo 289/auto. Had the mahogany dash with "toggle switches" in the middle. I'd like to buy Dad another one....but they aren't exactly a cheap car to buy..... Although, I'd trade Mike my 68 for it......

get in line buddy.
If I had the means, it would be sitting among all my other junk. Mine was a 68, 302, 4V heads, (one year head design) power brakes, power steering, automatic, shoulder belts, A/C, cloth seat inserts, dual exhaust, blue on blue with a perfect int and full bondo quarter panels. Original hub caps made it look stocker than stock. |

I think I should be first in line Andy... I've offered to get rid of my 68...my last remaining GM product Actually, I'd trade the 68 F100 swb for it, but I don't think I could part with my C10....

I would also like to thank Mike and his wife for letting us stop by. The food was real good also Hobo stew and killer wings even the dogs wanted real bad =) The weather was real nice until 2:30am then it was cold, not sure what it dipped down to. Hope I didn't disturb anyone's sleep while trying to keep somewhat warm in the cab. Andy, I'll be waiting for another ride in the stinkin Lincoln if you still have it when I see ya again. Wasn't scared but if you need some chocolate milk shook up just drive down to the hardware store mer seconds away hehe. I was surprised by all the quadrajets I seen on the trucks a lot more than I expected to see. This was my first board meet hopefully not the last

Mike, just wanted to say thanx to you and Rhonda for putting up with us again. Had a good time meeting old friends and new while I was there. Had to leave early, wasn't driving. Grandkids had a soccer game, and my son and I had to cut it short. Next time, I'm driving myself and staying as late as I want. Missed the group shot.(would've had to use a wide angle lens) Jaime, yes I still want the shifter boot. Sorry I missed you and the Huck. Hope ya'll did good at the swap meet? The guy with the blue 68 4X4 and his son ridin shotgun was Truckman. Again Mike, THANX! Enjoyed it again.

I had a great time like everyone else and even got rid of some excess parts. Thanks to Mike and his wife for the hospitality. My truck even did great on its longest trip yet. I'm up to 450 miles on it so far. We sure got some looks on our caravan from Cincy. I'll try to get my pics on here tonight.

My Thanks too, go out to Mike and Rhonda for having us out.
And also to Dean, Alvin, Pierce, and Mylilbowtie for the great ride up north together. We sure did get some looks on I-75. Especially Dean's SUPER CLEAN K20, and Pierce's newly painted Blazer. Thanks to Steven for helping out when i broke down. |

Fun time, good eats, just too short as Jamie/blazergal and I were swap meeting and couldn't break away eariler. Had a dude with a pocket full of cash looking for GMC Jimmy stuff and I had to help him all i could~~! Hats off to Mike and Rhonda for hosting and tks for all who made it. Great to see some old friends (Andy, Mike, Rob, Adam, etc.) and make some new ones. And yea--Alvin in the yellow S10 is actually Adam and he does have a 68ish truck in the "process". He bought it from board member BILL who got it out of Texas. I supplied him with a prestine SWB frame 2 years ago and --well as he says "it's coming along" Great guy!
Some really beautiful trucks---some even had the front emblems on right-side-up!hehehe Then there was my old blue towing the LWB trailer full of truck parts---. The swap meet was interesting---Jamie FELL INTO A SET OF 67-68 BUCKETS AND A TACH DASH just minutes before I got there----grrrr. I happened upon a set of Blazer buckets, a like new GMC Tailgate with trim, a gorgeous set of 90-91 Buick Park Avenue 60/40 burgandy leather seats, etc. and we all had a good time. Can't wait for next year~~~ you'all may want to ask LonghornMan about his rustproffing application techniques---hehehehe |

I know it is a phrase often used around here, but the people I met on Saturday are some of the finest people I have ever hung out with. There was constant laughter, poking fun, and story swapping. I will do everything possible to make it to every get-together from here on. I honestly did not know what I was missing out on!
Thanks for the kind words guys, I really appreciate it. Again, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be associated with. Thanks Mike for hosting this shin-dig, you have the perfect place for it. Awesome garages, and a beautiful setting. Here's a couple pics I've got, BigBlue's GMC, and a shot of the caravan heading North out of Cincy. |

Thanks Mike and Rhonda, great party! Big Blue thanks, the wife loved her new toilet bowl brush. This board has awsome members. Cincinnati attendance was up by 300% from last year, really fun trip. Lots of good food, compliments to the chefs Rhonda and Cheeswagon for the Hobo Stew! Dean's truck was a sight to behold in real life and I got to cruise with it!
