I've found all of my classic GM trucks through Truck Trader, the free ad papers, word of mouth, or just out for a drive and see a "For Sale" sign. I rarely see any on lots anymore. I have also looked through Hemming's.
My best deal came from an estate sale when I lived in Oregon. The ad read, "farm vehicles for sale", so I just had to go. That is where I found my '69 CST 20. The previous owner hardly ever drove it, only to church on Sunday and to pick up small items that needed to be picked up. That truck was absolutely beautiful, and mine for $1500. ( I also picked up a '57 Corvette one time at an estate sale for much less than it was worth !) Best advice: Don't give up hope, and try out estate sales if they mention vehicles. It worked for me.

I started looking for my first one by scouring the paper and found if I searched on Wednesday mornings on the paper's internet site, I could get them right when they were posted. One morning I looked and the 69 K20 was listed. I was the first caller, rushed out and drove it and we went straight to the bank on the test drive.
The 70 K5 was linked in a post by a boardmember - he had found the link and just put it out for us to see. I waited for a while, looking at it numerous times each day then finally decided I better jump on it. Patience is the key for finding these trucks - they turn up sometimes when you aren't even looking.

That's funny. That's what my wife says "they turn up when you're not looking". I'm up to 12 now.................

Got mine from my brother in law after he thrashed it. He got it from my father in law who had the truck for 20 years (rebuilt in 86). He got the truck from a friend who bought it used from an old man. The neighbor has a 72 3/4 ton 4x4 to match my 72 1/2 ton 4x4. Both trucks were rebuilt in 1986 and supposedly got the last 4 rear quarter panels gm had!!!

I had been looking for a 67-72 for about 6 months before i got mine, and seriously for maybe 2 months. I found a few decent specimens, but not the right one. One of my friend's dads knew a guy at work into these trucks, got to talking to him, and found out that he was about to put a '72 up for sale. He let me know and i bought the truck! Can't beleive i've already had it for almost 4 years....wow, that flew by!
