Couple Hours Work
Started to put stuff back on.
It actually looks okay for a wackity/bang paint job. Hopefully will finish it up before the new year. Have a factory roof rack to install yet also. |

Looks good Kurt. I know how it goes. There is no perfect vehicle. You can never have too many. The problem up here is as soon as you get them lookin real pretty you can only bring yourself to drive them for 5 months of the year.

You are the man Kurt. What kind of paint job did you do? Did you sand and prime? How many coats of paint and/or clear?
I'm just curious because I am toying with the idea of chopping the roof and rear of the cab off of the 79 and make it a convertible if I don't sell it soon. I also want to drop it and throw a tonneau on it. I also want to paint it but I don't want to go expensive or spend lots of time on it. I appreciate any ideas that you have to offer. Thanks, Larry

Almost Done
Now it's just the roof rack to install and I'm finished up for now.
Thanks everybody for the feed back. This is my work truck now, I drive it everyday of the week! Drive the pickup when I just want to "scoot" around or do errands. |

What a change 6 weeks can make!! The split bench looks great. Just what I want for the Blazer. What are those seats out of or where did you find them and were they reasonably priced?
Good work Kurt! Of course that white is just temporary until you can paint it med. olive... right?

Great job on the quick. Single stage paint?
Bigger question. What do the neighbors think of the Sub now?

It's a different truck to drive all together with them in it. Green? Not this time. Not sure if I could take that much of a good thing. GMC71K20: It's a single stage paint made by SEM that doesn't need a primer. It's kinda like a poormans POR15 without all the prep. It can be painted over bare metal and rust, very durable when completely dry/set. Not very glossy though, even with the 'additive'. More of a satin. You asked earlier about the door jambs, yes their still Ochre, if it bugs me enough, I'll spray them white too but not worried about it right now, main objective here was a 'one color' issue. 4x4Poet: To early to tell, those who 'd about it haven't seen it yet. So the question now is..."whats next"? Last edited by vtblazer; 12-28-2004 at 07:02 AM. |

So what do the people that you work with have to say about it? They probably think that you just bought another truck.
