Randy I am glad to hear you and your daughter made it through this. Yes it is a truck and wounds will eventually heal, just take care of yourselves and that ol truck will be waitin for ya. I have a 69 GMC but there isn't much left of it but if there is some little something you need gimme a holler and I will see if it is still there.

I'm glad to see your doing ok and that you will heal...
 I had a flash back of when I taught my step daughter to drive, I took her out in my FJ-40 it had a FI 400sbc with ba11s, she got scared after taking a right turn miss took the gas for the brake and she got alot of gas. went up on a curb just missed a light pole. I'm trying to keep my calm and not scare her even more by yelling at her to stop... When we got home after we stoped and I took over. After a quick clothes change. She wanted to go back out just not on a busy road....

You're still here for a reason Randy! We're all glad you and your daughter are doing okay and recovering. Sometimes I wish I had stayed and retired (Navy) since the cost of med. insurance for my family almost doubled for 2005. That GMC still looks good. I need to take my daughter out for driving lessons too, but finding a road with light traffic is near impossible anymore.

Hey Randy that must have happened just after I came down there and got that gas tank. I'm glad you and your daughter are ok. I've got a driver's fender if they are the same from a chevy (can't remember off the top of my head). It needs work but it's yours for the asking if it will work and you're interested, I'll be glad to bring it to you. While I'm at it I want to thank you again for the tank, I just drove the truck for the first time last night. It runs like crap, but I'll get it straightened out.

I appreciate the offer on the fender!
Unfortunately, GMC fenders are different. I might be able to massage the old fender back into shape, I'm going to at least give it a try. No problem on the gas tank, I just obtained two more, along with two saddle tanks.

Wow Randy, I hope you are doing OK. I was in a roll over 8 years ago, in a Geo Tracker no less, and I got banged up really good. Severe concussion, multiple laceration's and contusion's and damn near lost my right arm when it went out the window as we were rolling. I had to have some work done on my elbow and had a skin graft to patch it back up because there was nothing there but bone. It took me at least six months before I was able to function normally. I had my seat belt on, thank God. That was my only saving grace, the officer at the scene said that we should have been dead. It's a good thing that you have insurance too, I didn't and i'm still paying medical bills till this day.
I think I know how you must be feeling right now but hang in there. The body is pretty resilient and doctors can work wonders now-a-days. Glad your daughter made it out OK too.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

It's the gold colored one in my back yard. I still have it and one of my friends is bringing me a nice pair of doors. The cab will need rocker panels and parts of the floor replaced, but I can do that myself.

I was wondering what the truck looked like. Did they say why the collar bone wasn't healing? So are you building it to be a work truck or are you "FIXING IT UP"?

Like the others, I'm glad both of you are ok too. I remember a little incident that happened with me and my dad back when I was 12 or 13, although in my case there were no injuries. I had talked my dad into teaching me to drive the truck. I think it was a 56 Chevy, 3 speed on the column. To make a long story short, somehow or another I got my feet all confused and when I should have been mashing in the clutch, I mashed in the gas pedal! Now, we weren't in the city, I grew up on a farm. When I hit that gas pedal, it scared the crap out of me. Without thinking, I started looking down at the floor board of all places, and before I knew it, I heard daddy hollering for me to "turn it boy!" I looked up just in time to see me running all over a fence row that our neighbor had just put up. Well, like your daughter, I too, over corrected and swung that sucker to the left and just started tearing up about 10 acres of corn before I could get her straightened out and stopped. All during this time, daddy never once moved. He just kept hollering, "TURN IT BOY!" Now back then they didn't believe in this modern day philosophy of not spanking. I just "knew" I was going to get my rear end fired up for that little escapade. But, I didn't. The only thing daddy ever said was "I reckon we got a fence to put up." Damage to the truck was minimal, nothing anything like yours, but son that fence row and corn field suffered greatly! I'm sitting here right now still laughing about that day back in '61 or '62. I hope you and your daughter will be able to look back on this incident years from now and be able to get a little chuckle out of it, though I know it's hard to imagine that with the injuries you have. Take care and heal up quick.
