I'm going to try and get some of the neighborhood kids to help me push it in the garage tomorrow. If I can get it in, I'll look into finding the problem on Wednesday. It should not take me long to find it with some help. I mostly need someone to help me push it and bump the motor.

IT LIVES!!!! Spent $64 and it started on the first crank. I just need to warm her up really good and reset the timing!!! It took me longer go and buy a part than to remove and install it. Next, get the registration and inspection sticker done this week!!
Anyone up for a 100 MPH challenge?? |

The 383 is not on the back burner too far. I am in the process of locating parts. I just spent a day in SA looking for a short block. The AFR heads will take about 6-8 weeks to get once I order them. I have a overall plan I just need to execute.
The loud pop I heard was not the timing chain. It was the ignition module!!! I never heard of one pop before now. I should have suspected it a while back. At idle under very hot conditions the motor would shut off but start right backup. This time the module failed while running and hot. |

I have a roller block. I'm going to use it as a core or trade it on another. I'l be visiting SA again probably within the next two weeks. I found two places that are recommended. If the truck holds up I will probably drive it to SA just for fun.
