I`m even curious what headers you are using with your manual set-up.It`s real iffy which will clear the clutch linkage.I`ve modified the linkage before.Don`t want to do that again.Don`t want to use shorties, either.

I am using hooker super comp headers, they are expensive, but they fit great and were not all that hard to install. only complaint is that they make the #3 plug hard to get to. no mods necesary for the linkage at all

With your new transfer case being rebuilt....was it a 4 speed NP205 with 10 spline to start?
Basically...what I want to know..is did you use any different gear spline counts.....been reading it can be done different ways. Is this a 32 spline female NP205 transfer case now?....or is it a np205 10 spline male shaft and what is the spline count on the trans...did they ( AA )supply a coupler with 2 different spline counts on either end for your application? Any idea what year the trannys from...and was it a 4wd tranny to start with? Do you think a body lift would have avoided the crossmember shimming? Seeing that there are no hole in the transfer case for the frame to transfer case support bracket it appears the transfer case is ...76 era up...with a different style coupler for the front drive shaft aswell....lengthening required for forward drive shaft and shortening rear drive shaft necessary? The questions only get worse....lol.

mi t-case had was machined to accept a 32 spline female input originallt intended for the th400, this can be done to either auto or manual 205s if needed.
the tranny came from AA brand new, so it was intended for a 4wd, but i have no clue what year it cross references to, it has the 5.61 first, so its not the older chevy style and has all forwar and reverse gears synchroed. i do think a small body lift would avoid the shimming, i intend to move the engine forward i think in the future and that shoulddo it as well. it will require a new front driveshaft, i never had one installed when i bought the truck so it needed one anyhow. i intend to swap a D60 in the front, so a stock length will most likely work. due to the 2.5 inch lift the back driveshaft is fine. but without the lift it would need shortened Ryan |

i like it, i still need to mod the floor cover, but i was cruising at just over 60 at like 2000 or 2100 rpm with 33's and 4.10 gears. it should be nice when i get the rusty floor fixed and get some sound deadener in it with a floor mat.
