Very nice engine AND truck! I am currently building a mild performance 383 ( cast steel crank, 400 rods, cast hypeutechtic flat top pistons, 993 heads from the 400 with intake and ex. valves opened up to 2.02 in 1.6 ex. No cam chosen yet.) I have a reputable Chevy builder picking the parts for me. The main set up is only 2-bolt but using studs.

I bet you have something other than my set up to race that truck with. What is in your bottom end.

Yes, I got a aluminum from a sheet metal shop, I had them make the sharpe bend where the fan mounts. I did the rest of it myself.

Sweet job! The other funkiton of the intake valley baffle is to keep the lifters in the bores if a push rod fails. that keeps oil presure so you don"t loose the enitire motor. I was always leary to run one with my aluminum heads though. I kept it off after I pulled the cast iron ones.

Here is what I have in the bottom end.

4 bolt main block
3.75" cast crank
5.7" Eagle SIR cap screw rods
TRW forged flat top pistons
Lunati hydraulic flat tappet cam, 230/235@.050 .496" lift.

I ran that same intake baffle for 10 years with aluminum heads without any problems.

Thats incredible man! Hats off to you sir, I was watching those drag videos and wow, you beat some nice cars man. Seeing your truck destroy all those sports cars off the line gave me goosebumps. My favorite one was when you just toasted the integra..lol I was laughing so hard.

Any chance those videos of regal and the ones of your burnouts will be back up to watch again?

Will those videos really be back in an hour. I've seen that error before and they usually aren't ever put back up. EDIT: And now the whole site seems to be down hehe so never mind.

How much did you have in it? I'd be interested in buying the roughed out piece from you if you wanted to grab another one. If so shoot me a PM with a price. If you have some closer pics that would be great.
Thanks,
Taylor

Yeah it will come back up after a hour. That is Geocites way of trying to get people to pay for a upgrade.

What do you want to know about it? 3.75" is the stroke of the crank. It's just a cast crank I bought from Scoggin Dickey 10 years ago. The heads have 2.05/1.60 valves. No dyno numbers.

Okay, so this sounds like the same crank 'type' that my engine machinist is getting me. The 993 heads will have same valve size as yours when finished, 76 cc chamber.
Would you guess 400 hp without the nitrous??

Wolfthing
Yeah, it's just a cast crank nothing special. You can get a cast Eagle or Scat crank for under $200. 400hp? do you mean mine or yours? I probably do have around 400hp. With the 993 heads I doubt you would ever see 400hp. I wouldn't put a lot of money in those heads for performance. You would be better off with aftermarket heads or even vortec heads. I found some flow numbers for the 993 heads. Check it out.

Lift/int/exh
.100"/51cfm/38cfm
.150"/76cfm/55cfm
.200"/104cfm/71cfm
.250"/130cfm/88cfm
.300"/155cfm/99cfm
.350"/175cfm/109cfm
.400"/184cfm/113cfm
.450"/185cfm/119cfm
.500"/186cfm/122cfm

I had it painted 11 years ago, so I don't remember the paint code. It's called Garnet Red Metallic. It's a GM color.
