I went to the All Truck Nationals at Carlisle and met GMCPaul. Bought a glove box liner from him and a used wheel puller from someone else.

Saw a million trucks I wanted and lots of parts I don't have the $$$ for right now.

Visited my GF's dad in the CCU (ICU for heart patients). If you are of a praying anture.. he could use your prayers. His name is Glen.

Fri drove to cranston rhode island to pick up the cab repair parts i bought from rolm he is another great board member that i had the pleasure to meet.those red bucket seats he has are in great shape(shameless plug)


Spent two days at our 24th annual truck show. bought two arizona (rust free )front fenders for $25dollars a piece. traded a 71 drivers door for a 68 bucket seat combo with the flip up center Major scores in my book . just had a good time.

Well, I got the A/C in my new (92) Metro working good, and I replaced the compressor and reciever drier on the '99 'burb, and I looked at a '70 c/20 that I didn't buy.

Other than that, it involved a lot of driving, took both the Metro and the '99 'burb to Phoenix.

As far as the truck goes, I did nothing but drive it. In fact I drove it for the first time in a decent rain, and guess what, it leaks from under the dash, my feet were getting wet. Maybe it's got something to do with the rust holes ont he firewall (ya think?). Got the waterpump installed after detailing the front of the 350 in the Z28, and also got the 3.42 posi for the Z detailed and ready to go in, in place of the stock 3.08 one legger.

Andy, I am glad to see you have the old longhorn back on the road! I bet that 500 Cad really rocks just a thought before I go........& Im d@mn sure you have heard it before..... That old Cad dont like the gears you have in that old 1 ton longhorn, she wants to pull a mid 3's gear at the lowest, but would be happy with a 3.00 gear. Its not a revin mill......hell, I busted 2 or 3 valve springs on the 425 Cad I ran in the old longhorn! It seamed like anything over 5000 revs was too much......yea, I was going to build a 514, but it looked like she would "bite " the wallet too hard ! I have played with my old truck for almost 21 yrs, & the BB Olds was the baddest mill she ever ran......still a primered rod, that gets all the "thumbs up", when she is on the road. she is a d@mn solid west coast pc, but somewhere , I have really lost the "passion" for that old truck? playing with that old booger , really taught me a bunch.....the edumacation is mine, even if the truck goes . You need a 14bolt to get you into the 3.42-3.73 range.....a little welding,& you are good to go! If you need that smaller verter, i still have the billet wheel on the wall(same deal, but dont let too many guys know that Im that easy!) the bottom line is I really would be happier seeing that pc run on your truck.....than just hang on my wall Best of luck....Crazy Al

fired the 69 up and drove out to road smashed gas pedal to floor ohhhh boy 18 miles latter i discovered that my tool box fell out somewhere . drove back the way i came found box put it in truck drove back to shop. found oil leak fixed it then put the windows back in had a beer looked at tool box fixed bent tool box had another beer.
went out to find tail gate laying out back ( man there are a lot of dents in it)
had another beer (two more) call wife to come get me. went home got atacted by kids
so we went swimming. life is good

WTG Andy! It's great you got it runnin'

This weekend mine got washed, and I plugged a tire. Last week was a different story. Major tune; replaced plugs, cap, rotor, oil, and filter. I serviced the trans, rearend, packed the wheel bearings, lubed everything, rotated the tires, and installed new front brake shoes. I'm driving it to San Diego, and LA next week. I haven't taken it for a long road trip for a while. The Toyota has A/C, would use about one third the fuel and is usually the travel mode of choice, but on Thursday I'll be toolin' down Route 66 between Barstow, and San Berdoo, windows down, sunglasses on, stereo cranked on my way to San Diego

I cleaned up the stock Furd rims I plan on using on my truck. I looked all over the junkyard and couldn't find any stock 8 lug GM wheels. Not sure if I want to paint 'em black, or original white. Just made 45 bucks today doing some landscaping and yard work. Saving up for new tires! I'm going with 7.5-16 highway tires in the front and 9.00-16 mud tires in the back. Found these at a tire shop in town, they look cool and they're about 35" tall.

Didn't get nary a thing done this weekend. Had a total knee replacement done Tues. the 2nd, and ain't done squat since. Might be lookin into trading or selling the 4 spd. setup I got for an automatic? Everything from the flywheel to the rear u-joint has been repaired, rebuilt, or replaced. All depends on how the knee feels? But, she's still in the garage. Still waiting on me.

Oh and don't ever buy/use Eastwood's SelfEtching Primer. Terrible...it's thinner than water, doesn't spray good. I hate it. I thought I had a quart of Epoxy left in the cabinet and all I had was 4 quarts of that Eastwoods Self Etch. lets just say it comes sprayable (no reduction) and i used three quarts to to two light coats inside and out on the bed and just the outside of the fenders junk paint. Now i want to sand it all off to put something good on it
only good part about it is now i can see all the small dings

This past weekend I went to the Penny Pinchers Rat Riot in Galion, Ohio.......Very cool. Some really cool old school rods. I'll post some pictures when I get them developed.

Went to Street Rod Nationals in Louisville Thursday and Friday. Had to pick up some kids at summer camp Saturday. Went to the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday. Truck went completely untouched all weekend. Oh well . . . it's hard to complain with street rods and a NASCAR race within 2 days of each other.
