68 K20 Four speed with a HUGE Rockwell T-case

Located in NH. Finished ripping apart a K20 today. I needed the front clip. I am hauling the rest off to the bone yard shortly.

Tranny shifted well, for the >1 mile I drove it. Had a decent clutch in front of it. 283 ran well and is now going into a buddies' t-bucket.

Rockwell is IMMENSE.

Comes with front and rear driveshafts for a k20 longbed.

300 plus the ride. I can throw it on a pallet and ship Amtrak freight. It's pretty cheap.

Re: 68 K20 Four speed with a HUGE Rockwell T-case

How about putting that front end on a pallet instead!
I keep getting my 67 one piece at a time. The problem is I have to take the rest of the truck. ^ so far but getting closer

I can do that. It's a 4.10 closed knuckle drum braked D44.

I also have an open knuckle 3.73 10B with disks.

Hi grendel,

Was that 68 K20 manual steering?
I don't even know if there is such a thing as powersteering on the 67-68 4x4...

No, it was power steering. Looked factory, but who knows on one of these trucks with close to 40 years of history?

Do you still have any of the powersteering parts? (gearbox, pittman arm, steering arm on top of the knuckle)

Sorry man, I sold off the box and gave away the chassis.

It's been gone for a bit.

The 4 speed granny transmission with t-case and drivelines that are from a 1968 Chevy K20.

(I am up late, too)

Ahhh. Right, When in doubt go back to the original post I guess. Have been contemplating a 4x conversion on the dump... I know it shouldn't be an sm420 but just thought I would ask....

I am told that it is an SM420.

However, I can't tell the difference between an SM420 and a SM465.

Still a good transmission with a decent t-case and driveshafts for the money
