Don't mean to hyjack, but how rare are 6 banger K-5s?? There is a yard here with one, I laughed and thought who in their right mind would order one of these with a 6 cylinder.....auto too, I think.

I have one with a 250 and 3 speed, but it has power steering.

Re: Rare Blazer?

This reminds me that about 10 years ago I bought a 1968 Corvette. When I got the title for it, they had listed the make as 'Ford'. As it turns out the guy I had bought it from had financed it through the Ford Credit Corp. Does that mean that I used to own the rarest Corvette in the whole world, the only one ever made by Ford? Of course not, it means that someone in the Ford Credit Corp and the State DMV were brain dead when they processed the title. Given the caliber of people I run into at the DMV, nothing would surprise me.

Oh, BTW I especially liked his description of the " hidious woodgrain stripes running down the lower sides of the truck with a woodgrain inlay in the tailggate". Nice touch.

250s were common. It's what you got if you didn't order another engine. The 292, because it required a different [292/4x4-only] crossmember must've been a PITA to dealers, so they probably had their sales guys push the 350s. Automatic transmissions were also big on the hype list.
Performance-wise, it's my pet project that the lighter [than a V8] and very torquey 292 would be the ideal L6 engine in the K/5 chassis, especially off road.

Re: Rare Blazer?

for lack of a better work....BUNK! Clearly the guy knows enough about computers where he is aware of ebay and the $10 digital cameras you can buy (I saw one in a newspaper flyer for $9 the other day), so if he had it, and felt the need to post two pages worth of text about it....he should use some of that $200 he saved in the original offering price, and buy a camera.

second, from my understanding the 402 big block was a bored 396 from the factory in 69. The blocks were still billed as 396's but were overbored due to oil consumption issues. I don't think it was until 71 or 72 that they re-designated the block as a 402
good story, had me on the edge of my seat, but the rich uncle was a little too over the top...."awww shucks uncy herb, i ah can't wait to enheret ure 2 million doolars wort a cars!" (little too over played), and yes, I would think the uncle would have a digital camera!
if I am wrong, GREAT! it just means another vehicle has to be added to MY list of vehicles I would store in a warehouse when I become a rich!
