Re: Found these at the dump today...

I throw as much in my trash as possible, the rest goes to the transfer station.

And I did rescue the Playboys, being 13 at the time those gals got a workout...

Freakin sad and frustrating! The guys that work at my local dump have a spot on the side where they pull out the "good stuff" they want for themselves. That's the stuff you can't take - cause it's already spoken for!

Take a lesson from the guys that through the paint cans in the pit.... get a buddy to go in front of you with a pickup load of empty paint cans.... while the guys in orange go in to a panic and their kamikaze dumpster diver mode, throw the doors in the back of your truck.

At our local dump, you can take whatever you please from the metal pile. But, it helps when you are friends with the guys who run the dump. Then you are golden Thats how I got dune buggy floorpans, there was a whole sheet of 10 gauge steel lying there.

Odds are pretty good that they will sell all the metal for scrap and thats why they wouldnt let them take anything. A buddy of mine works are the dumps here and He gets all kinds of cool stuff. He called me one day and asked if I wanted a drill press. Next time he was over I had an old cool looking drill press that works great. Didnt need anywork.

Damn, my eyes are gettin' misty. If I had the resources I would keep something like that from ever happening.

Re: Found these at the dump today...

the guy at our dump store always seems grumpy and unhappy but he will let you take stuff out of the mettel dumpster i alwaways go there first when i need somthing i got mo boat trailer there working riding mowers all kinds of squre stock trailers wood stoves you name it. when somthing he thinks someone might want comes in he tells people to set it aside cause somone will use it he will not let you take computers or appliences cause you have to pay to dump them makes no cents to me, hell worst that could happen is they get paid to take the same sh!t again well i know if them doors were at my dump store they would have ben recycled properly, good day
