This bodyman does a lot of these trucks. I've seen 3 in his shop at the same time that he is working on. He does insurance jobs but when thats slow he has these trucks to work on. He has a 68 in there now that has a whole new aftermarket front clip on. He can't get a hood to fit. He's tried 3 different ones. He can take the parts off of this truck and get his customer going and make money. So if you can take one truck and make 3 from it I think it's a good deal.

This guy can build trucks. Just one of the examples of what comes out of his shop. A bodyman like this is a rare Gem in these days and times. He loves these old trucks too.

BTW,if anyones whines,it`s you.Everyone has opinioins and some,like me,aren`t afraid to express it.Handle it,Dude! Like I said before,"good hoods,cabs,and beds can be found".Part a truck like that for a hood?That`s nuts,IMHO.Besides,the front clip is the most adjustable part of the body.I`ve never had a hood I couldn`t line up.

If it makes y'all feel any better my father and I sent about 9 of these trucks to the crusher around 1995. One was a complete (but very rusty) 69 gmc shortbox 4x4 (It was an old family plow truck)
 Just think, everyone else's trucks are that much more valuable! With the amount of sheetmetal and parts that are being reproduced, it almost doesn't make sense to take a truck that nice and use it as parts for other trucks. If I had 6K right now I'd be draggin that baby home. Is it a shame, yes. Can I do anything about it, unfortunately, no.

Sounds a little nicer now. Opinions should be directed to the topic, not a person. I lean towards the side of finding a real parts truck. With each one that I run into I do find something OEM that is still nice. If I found a nice whole & running truck, I would try to buy it or find a buyer and allow one more person to enjoy what we enjoy - driving a classic. Thanks for letting us see another nice original.

How much for the seat belts?
I personally would keep it but upgrade the brakes and add power steering if it doesn't have any. Maybe aftermarket AC. But, only if it was a 3/4T. For some reason longbed 1/2 tons don't appeal to me that much. Just curious, for those that would save this for it's history: Would you do the same if the nameplate had a four letter "F" word instead? Just wondering... Did I say: How much for the seat belts?

It's obvious that this guy does real nice work from what I can tell (Blue/white truck) and I say, to each his own. It's only material property that someone owns and can do whatever they please with. The medical community parts out much more unique and classic PEOPLE to make someone else whole. Food for thought. Maybe we're taking this way too far
