Re: Help me pick some tires please

I dont think it would look right on yours personally. With mine lowered , the 285s really fill the wheel wells up nice...almost a pro-street look. But Im afraid on yours , it might make it look more like a pre-runner.

Re: Help me pick some tires please

if I put 285 70/15 on rear what would be a good match for my 10" rims on the front..I'll be doing 2/4 drop next season but need tires now and dont want to buy them twice?..any ideas?..I dont mind wide front tires?..running 295/50/15s on 10's all around now but want the fender wells filled more.. and dont want to buy new front rims ..thanks

Re: Help me pick some tires please

When I lowered mine 2.5" in the front the 10" rims were too much. I was running 275/60/15's. I had to go back down to a 8" rim. Everytime I hit a bump the sidewalls were rubbing the tires bad.

You can try it though, a 275 is the smallest tire you can get on a 10" rim I think. The tire shop will hate you for it though, mine did.

Re: Help me pick some tires please

Man I'm going through the same issue on my stepside.I have 255/60 all 4 on 8 in the front and 10 in the rear. The old school BF T/A's were wider years ago {mine are old tires} so do'nt go off a old tire measurment cause SUMMIT sells and gives spec's and they are now smaller. Not by alot but anyway I think the235/70 wouild work for you as for me I need to get 7's to the front pull the 8's th the rear ....oh did I forget I was going to bag it this summer.

Thanks again everyone for your help, I will be heading to the local tire store I usually buy from and see what they can come up with.

Re: Help me pick some tires please

That is cool overcamber. I was *****ing because towards the end, it was hard to tell if the reples were directed towards my question or yours.

Anyhow, I ordered my tires today. I am getting P225/70's for the front, and P275/60's for the rear. They will be BFGoodrich T/A's. I know there are people who don't care for those tires, but all the other tires I looked at had goofy imprints on the blackwall side of the tire (blackwalls will be outside on my truck)...and that didn't sit well with me. I have had T/A's before, and actually liked them.

SO, I appreciate all the help folks...and I'll get some pics when I get them installed!

27.5" & 28" F/R. That should sit well.

Re: Help me pick some tires please

Woo Hoo, tires came in!! I got them mounted before I left town on Friday, came home today and tried to install them on Yeller....but that was a no-go. I purchased the only mag wheel lug nuts I could find locally, but I need the longer version. I will try again tomorrow (Monday), to see what else I can come up with locally. Until then, here are some pics!

Thanks for all the help!!

Re: Help me pick some tires please

Sweet! Good choice on the T/A's. I was like you, every tire I looked at had a funky sidewall design. As far as looks and decent ride, it's hard to beat T/A's. IMO

Now we gotta see em on the truck as soon as you can get em mounted.
