Re: Slow And Low So Goes The Tempo!!!
It's been awhile since you updated so I had not seen your build yet, until now.
May I say, we need more regular updates on this one for sure. Very Very Nice Work. I like it alot. I do know how things are though, I have not even started a build thread yet so I have no room to talk RJ22... |

Re: Slow And Low So Goes The Tempo!!!
well i have made some progress..
suspension is pretty much done.. the only thing i might add is the brakets to adjust the drag arms up and down in the at the front of them. colom is in and fully functional. the ride height can be adjusted up and down all the way around. this is probably lower than what i will be driving on the strip or street. anyways here are pics.. |

Re: Slow And Low So Goes The Tempo!!!
Awesome project. I wish I had a place to do something like that with mine. It's nice to see that you've basically built everything you can instead of buying it. Keep it up.

Re: Slow And Low So Goes The Tempo!!!
thanks guys you would not believe how many times i have pulled parts and put them back in to get everything just right. you can see at the top of the page that i changed my origanal location for the panard bar..
djracer i got the anti roll bar off ebay. here is there web site. you can pick up on one side of the truck and the back tire starts to lift right with the frame so there is no twist from side to side between the axle and the frame.. it looks like it will work very well. here is the linky http://www.d-mproducts.com/ skatesracing here is a pic of my sbc. i bought most everything to support either alot of nos or boost. and i am definatly leaning toward boost.... |

Are you going to amke a mount for the LCA's similar to what I did? If so, may I suggest going up as well as down from the stock location..

Re: Slow And Low So Goes The Tempo!!!
this is the kit i used.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HEIDT...spagenameZWD1V its the 60" wide kit cause are trucks are so wide. you will notice that the tire still set in some. i then bougth the upper and lower a frames and the rack. you must also buy the rack extensions. to keep everthing lined up and hopefully elimnate any bumpsteer. i also bought the disk brakes and spindles. everything was off ebay. for only like around 1100 dollars. the qa1 coil overs were 400 plus. after cutting big notches into the tops of the center crossmember i then welded in the steel brackets that i cut from a 8x8 square tube. i welded these to the center crossmember tacking everthing first and making sure everthing was level. i then welded the out spring purches or hats to the square tube brackets i made. this was done trying to keep the measurments as close to what was given with the crossmember. i then fitted everthing to the crossmember. believe me when i say this is not a straight foward put togather kit. you really must do a lot of mesuring and making sure it all lines up lik you want. i read alot of the tec articles on the heidts sight also. remeber that it can be done but do your home work. and you should be just fine. here are some pics of the cross member... the red lines indicate the areas that i cut off..

Re: Slow And Low So Goes The Tempo!!!
i have not had the motor dynod yet.. the parts are as follows.
demon 825 drag carb 2" 4-hole ported carb spacer performance plus huricane intake the 350 block is the high nickel 2 bolt drilled and asembled with splayed main caps. large water jacket holes pluged and drilled with 1/4 inch holes. water jakets have been rock blocked to freeze plugs.. decked, bored , magenifluxed and hot tanked.. heads are reher morison cnc ported and polished including chambers dart pro 1's. finished with hd milodon intake and exhaust valves toped with titainium locks and keepers. 1.6 to 1 comp pro magnum rockers. comp roller 635 lift 292 duration cam with corisponding valve springs for 1.6 to 1 rockers. bottom end starts with all usa cola lightweigt 3.75 strocker crank. bought before they were bought out.. oliver billet rods with the 1500 hp rod bolts.. and ross custom pistons compression should be right at 10.1 to 1 hp i hope will be in the 500 hp range with around the same amount of torque. i built this thing with a lot of noss in mind. the weak link is the block. eventhough its been beefed up i dont think it will handle much more than 850hp... i plan on running it on just the motor for the first year with maybe a 300 shot of nos the secound.. then i will probably step up to a dart block and turbos i am taking it slow with the motor as i really dont want to blow it to kingdom come off the get go... oh ya the primer is nasson 2k high build sanding primer... with there etching epoxy underneath...
