Re: Let's See Some GMC's

This was my first 67-72. 307-2bbl 400 turbo and it had factory leaf springs in the rear. Perfect bed and it was straight as an arrow with no rust. I bought it in the mid 90's and drove it about 80k when the engine started using 12 quarts of oil a day so I decided it might need a new engine. Put a 350 in it, power steering and was about to put factory AC on it when a punk on I-75N lost controll of his car and hit me sending me spinning backwards into a guard rail totaling the truck. There was NOTHING left salvageable on the truck.

Re: Let's See Some GMC's

Well after seeing some of these, i'm almost ashamed to put my pics on here. Mine is definatley a work in progress. This one has been in the family since about 1980, and it was my first driver. I love this truck.

This pic was the day I took it out of my dad's back yard and put a new tranny in it. I bought it from him, and made it officially mine. Even though I drove it all through High School and such.

Re: Let's See Some GMC's

68gmcdually, your truck is sweet. Every time I see yours on the board It makes me wander why they didn't produce them at gm that way. Just conversions or custom built. Again sweet truck!

Re: Let's See Some GMC's

Here's mine from a few weeks ago at the dragstrip.

I'm going to start a frame off restoration on it in the spring, along with rebuilding the engine, and making one heck of a hot small block out of it

Re: Let's See Some GMC's

Great looking trucks guys! I hope mine gets close to to them when mine gets done. I do have a question though, and I have asked it a few times with no success. I love the look of the 67 style hood. What do I need to get to run a 67 front clip on my 69 GMC? Hope someone can answer this for me.

Re: Let's See Some GMC's

First time trying this attach a photo will see how it works. Haven't taken a decent photo of this thing yet but had it for years. Wood in the back lowered it a bit but want to bring front and back down so the wheel well bottoms are just flush with the tops of the tires.

Re: Let's See Some GMC's

Finally something easy to do on a computer. Photos are of 15-20 year old dead crappy paint then watersanded and polished. Still crappy old paint but good reflection and it shines now.
