Re: Not exactly your typical 72!

I really don't know many details on the truck and I don't think my bud does either. He bought the truck after only seeing it on the internet. Once he got it home it wasn't running right. I think he ended up changing the starter, carb, intake and some other odds and ends. They ran the #s on the engine and it is a small block 400 out of a mid 70s passenger car. The truck has 4 wheel disc brakes and a Ford 9" rear. This guy swaps and sells cars like some guys go through cheap beer! He'll probably have it traded off or sold in a couple weeks. Although he was mumbling about updating the look with some 20" rims on all the corners.

I have seen '70s Camaro/Firebird tanks used under the back. It seems like they have to be tilted rearward a little to allow for the fill tube to come out of the plate opening hence the reference to slow filling.

Re: Not exactly your typical 72!

that site only goes back to 1969, how much would the 69 grill need to be changed to fit a 67? also does anybody know if a company makes front roll pans or if that is custom? i i think im going to just make one of my own.

Re: Not exactly your typical 72!

Im not to keen on the chop or the grilll myself. But im am digging the fat tires out back. Is there anyway you could crawl under there and see if there was any modding done or if they will fit under stock wheel wells. And what size they are too.

Thanks.

Re: Not exactly your typical 72!

If I see him I will definitly find out what size the tires are. But I can tell you that it was seriously tubbed. No way that kind of meat is going under a stock wheelwell.

"Updated" tires and wheels would kill that truck,IMHO.Pro Street is a 1/4 mile look. They don`t run tall rims,it`s about the rubber.I hope he leaves it alone.Put that money in the motor .

Yes, I agree. Either look is ok but you should stick with one or the other. JMO

Re: Not exactly your typical 72!

I found out this past week that he traded this truck off for a custom chopper. I think he had a little less than 10K in the truck but the guy he got the bike from had receipts for 25K but was ready to move it.
