Re: Centerline wheel center caps
I just put a set of demoda wheels on my 99 tahoe and the centercaps wouldn't fit because they dip in and round back out. So I pounded the dust cap on my rotor round on a trailer ball because it is kinda wide and flat from the factory fits nice now. I know this is a different problem, but these wheels were built for the truck and still there are problems.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
I have the same problem w/ my billet Racelines. I painted the hub, it's not "as" noticeable, but it bugs me. Most ppl don't even know it's not supposed to be like that. I'll eventually get new wheels some day.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
Any of you guys with the 20x8.5 have a better pic of your rear backspacing? Curious if they tuck too much. Thinking about picking up a set myself before this deal ends.

Too much backspacing is better than too little. You can always add a set of 1" (or wider) billet adapters to bring the wheels back out and still not be into as much cash as for a comparable wheel. If there's too little backspacing there is nothing you can do.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
"cheaper rotors the Brakebest" These rotors actually prevent you from having to turn them down and the cap fits over them?

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
I bought some new rotors last night. I'm planning on taking them to the machine shop today to get them turned down.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
I had to turn down my hubs to fit my Bonspeed caps on my wheels. I also had to get my wheels machined to fit over my hub.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
I had to machine my Billet Specialties wheels to fit over my rotors. No machine work required on the rotor/hub though ... just the dustcap I.D.section of the wheel.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
I had cap issues with my centerlines too. They would fit over the rotor but not flush in the wheel. Had to grind some of the cap off on the back.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
The thing that sucks is, they told me the caps would fit. This seems to be a common issue with centerline and 67 thru 72 trucks. turning down the rotors was an reasonable alturnitive. I bought some of the overstock wheels to save some cash. It looks like after turning the rotors and buying some T6 adaptors for the rear, With tires I will still be under $1,500 with tires. Not bad for Billet wheels US made

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
I looked at them and they also didn't seem to work. I went ahead and bought some new rotors (A little better quality than Breakbest). I called around to different machine shops in the Dallas/Richardson area and found a machine shop that would do it for a fare price. I brought my wheel, Cap and rotors to them and the next day it was done. I think he said they turned about 1/8" off the rotor at the hightest point. Now I can slide my cap right over it No problem. I am thinking about painting my rotors with some high temp paint to help preserve them

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
did you put the cap back into the wheel, then set the rotor into the wheel to see if it would sit flush.in the pic,it looks like they didnt go down the spindle shaft far enough?just thought you should check be for you painted them.i ran into that problem and had to take them back and get more cut off.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
Mike,
How much longer on your wheels? did they give you a shipping date? did you stagger them w/ 18 & 20 or go 20 all the way?

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
You would think if they are selling this stuff they would have it together a little better and the programming wouldn't be an issue. I'm not really sure what to think of Centerline. My rims are nice though. I think it will be worth the wait for you it was me.

Re: Centerline wheel center caps
they are feeding you a line of crap ... the programming for the 20's is no different than the programming for the 18's ... i say they are probably waiting on their boat from "somewhere else" to get here with the finished wheels on it
