Well,the gardener hasn't returned my calls so there is the possibility that he was BSing me (I just met him Thurs.) and is a compulsive liar.Or I appeared TOO interested and now he is trying to figure out how to get it himself. Or the guy is just not good returning calls.

OK. Finally got the call back. I asked him if it was F##d or Chevy. He said it is like mine,GMC. I asked him if it was in the paper or anything and he said no,but the guy wants to get rid of it. Now he says the guy bought it new in the '80s he thinks,but he seems to think it is like mine (a 1969 ) so maybe he just doesn't know his " real old" trucks. His mentioned that the owner is one of those guys that REALLY takes good care of his cars,so this could really still be interesting.Now that I know it's not being advertised,I am slow-playing it here,don't want to look too anxious. I'll keep y'all posted.-Brian

Alright,finally! I talked to the owner just now but he couldn't talk much because he was working on a nuclear sub,getting it ready for an open -house in San Diego (!). He says it is a 1974 with a 454 and a cab-over camper. Original owner.Will talk to him and go see it tomorrow. This sounds GOOD! I guess those nuclear sub guys like the big-blocks.

Definitely. I heard from his gardener and him that it is 100% pristine and he wants $2000. With the price of gas here at 3.15 and climbing I think there's going to be a lot of wiggle room.He sounded pretty motivated.

Mileage wont be pretty but if its a 74 its smog exempt, so you can probably remove it...may not even have any if its a one ton...get some pics ASAP
