Re: What are you buying next?
Flowers for my wife. Maybe that will keep her from nagging about working on the truck such long hours.

Re: What are you buying next?
I have to decide on a full brake booster/master cylinder setup.
I found a pic of one I like, but can't identify it. Also when you go that route, you have to make your own bracketry and modify yadda yadda. It's nice EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE to have something just work. DLB |

Re: What are you buying next?
What I'm going to be buy next is a blazer tank and door skins. What I have recently spent money on is a painless wiring harness, ididit steering column, brand new seat and seat belts from www.discountvantruck.com , Grant classic wood steering wheel, autogage tach and other little things. Soon i'll have to buy interior things to get it all back together. After adding up all the bills of what I spent on this truck I could have bought a new one.

Re: What are you buying next?
ok, i guess i lied. I'm picking up a set of shorty headers for my truck. Not sure if they will get installed right away, or if they'll collect some dust until i build my motor in the fall.

Re: What are you buying next?
My brother-in-law's 83 Monte Carlo so I can pull the motor (~450hp 350) out of it to replace the trashed 350 in my 71 K20. Then I get the distinct displeasure of trying to dispose of what's left...

give me an oldskool manifold and carb on top, instead of a plastic intake with a throttle body...but I'm not one bit afraid of the newer technologies available in these genIII and genIV motors. Breathing is key and they've about got it figured out, putting out more hp and better fuel economy then every before. I had a 325hp/370tq 6.0 in my '01 truck...and now a 395hp/400tq (its tuned to 400+hp now) LS2 in the wife's new ride that replaced it. Wonderful engines and if you keep the r's down in the 1600-2200 range...decent fuel economy. I kind of wanted to buy the GMPP LS 364/440 for my Z28, but decided to wait and build an LSX...that just may go in the '68 GMC instead. I'm on so many meds these days for pain...it's really hard to decide what project gets what...much less finish one.

Re: What are you buying next?
My next big purchase will probably be a set of 3:08's with posi for my 12 bolt, or my 3 1/2 / 5 lowering kit from ECE.. Unless I spend over 200.00 at one time I just count the little stuff as maintenance.

if your tired of the little probs with gm cars.... get ready for head gaskets. every one of them blows headgaskets and usually warps the heads, and dometimes cracks them. also- whn you go to change the fuel filter (important, especially in the winter with the diesel fuel) make sure to leave as much fuel as possible in there, otherwise air gets in the lines and wont start... usually takes aboput an hour to bleed the system. Re: What are you buying next?
Well, I just put in the H-4 clear headlight doo-dad hookup
And after looking at the FAQ thread on upgrading the wiring, I decided to spend the 40 bucks and order the new harness for the headlights..... Next is the internally regulated polished alternator and regulator adapter.... Then I'm done till I break something.... Which will probably be next week (it's snowing here, so I'm safe till the rain washes away the road salt! |

Re: What are you buying next?
Money has always been the big issue getting anything done on my truck. Ive been stashing a little away each week (overtime) & as soon as it gets warm Ill be ordering a few goodies for my toy. Right now I want to get my garage shaped up to make working on things easier. I just hope that doesnt empty what Ive managed to save up. Fingers crossed...
