Re: Yyyyeeeeeeessssssssss!

Got a few pics with a "real" camera, not just the phone today. Was a bit dusty as they're working on other stuff in the shop right now, but pictures are pictures, none the less.

Re: Yyyyeeeeeeessssssssss!

Thanks for the compliments

Moostifer, I was very skeptical about the way I did the firewall at first, and just about cut it all out to do a full custom one, but as it gets further along I'm becoming more and more content with it indeed... Right now I'll maintain leafs with Cal-Trac bars. Eventually my plan is to go full tube chassis maintaining factory floor, firewall location, and bed floor, but that's more of a 15-year plan... lol

WELD4DAYS, I really wouldn't recommend pulling your bed apart if it's in decent shape... I simply did because I had to put new bedsides on, but getting it back together and squared up has been more work than it's worth. If you're doing the work on your own, I trust that you'll get comfortable with working on a vertical surface, just my honest opinion.

My updates are slow because I really don't push this shop. They don't make much on jobs like mine, and their bread and butter is in the collision repair, I understand that. I'll have a new batch of pictures when a significant headway has been made.

Re: Yyyyeeeeeeessssssssss!

Well, finally updating the thread a little. I've been in hiding for a while due to an ugly relationship situation that resulted in divorce from my wife...

anyhow...

Went to the bodyshop today and got some new pics. Enjoy.

Re: Yyyyeeeeeeessssssssss!

looking good so far! I just shaved the firewall on my truck, but put the master cylinder on the inside of the cab, underneath the dash. A few questions, though.
1. Where is the hole for the steering column?
2. Why shave the windshield wiper motor, and not shave the holes in the cowl for the windshield wipers?
3. do you have any in progress pics of how they did the pinch welds that angle up in the top corners of the cab? I'm at a loss on how to make those look right, and they look pretty nice on your truck.

1. It's not there yet. I'm still messing with some column issues and just didn't have the time to get it all squared away, so I told them to push forward. I'll just have to be carefull cutting the hole, and I'll probably run a billet trim around it or something.

2. Most of the wiper stuff will be covered by the cowl panel, which isn't painted yet.

3. I made panels to cover each side of the firewall, and had a bead rolled in them that layed over the stock pinch weld.
